Monday
Resting my back against the headboard of the bed, I reached for my phone which was ringing. "Hello?" I answered. "Hi Annie." Leo said and I looked at my tummy immediately. "Hi." I said. "How did you sleep this time?" he asked and I almost scoffed. Does he really want to talk about my sleep? "Better." I mumbled. "So, would you mind explaining me yesterday?" he asked. "What about yesterday?" I played dumb. "What about yesterday? Well, the fight with your family, for example. Or the whole thing with Marco?" he said and I sighed. "My parents didn't want me to leave. And so we had a little fight. But it's okay now." I said. "Why didn't they want you to leave?" Leo asked. It seems that we're playing Q&A. "Because I'm pregnant. And because they haven't seen much of me lately." I explained. "Okay, that's explained. Now, the other one." he said and I bit my lip. "Is this important?" I questioned. "Yes, Ana. He slapped my girlfriend. According to you, he insulted our baby and me." he said and my lip started trembling. "He...he started speaking about me and you and..baby. Then when I told him off rather sarcastically, he slapped me." I said quietly. "I'll kill him." Leo muttered and I shook my head. "No, you're not." I said. "Ana, he slapped you! While you're pregnant! What a coward is that? Why do you keep protecting him?" he exclaimed and I sighed. I don't feel like fighting. Not anymore. "I don't keep protecting him! But if you kill I'm, you'd be gone again! And don't you think you could spend some time around me too?" I asked turning it into a completely whole different situation. "An, believe me, if I could, I'd be around you 24/7." he said and I scoffed. "Yeah, I know. You have to be there." I snapped. "Ana, I don't wanna fight. I love you and our baby too. Please, let's not fight." he said. "I have to go, Leo. I'll call later." I said and hung up. Let's not fight. Huh. Be around me, protect me and our baby, and we don't have to fight.
Noon
"Are you sure you wanna sleep?" Maria Sol asked and I opened the door of the bedroom. "Yeah. I'm tired as hell." I mumbled and she smiled gently. "Sleep well." she said. I had mumbled a quiet 'thank you' before padding into the room.
"Wake up." somebody mumbled into my ear. I opened my eyes slowly and gasped for air. What am I doing here? Is Marco in Argentina? Or am I not in there anymore? "Hi mommy." Marco said all smiley. "Hi." I replied and he pecked my lips. "How are you?" he asked and I giggled. "Good. And you?" I asked and he shrugged with a smirk on his face. Moving down, he placed a kiss on my belly. "How is our beautiful baby?" he asked and I sat down carefully. "Perfectly fine." I said. Cupping my cheeks, he smiled. "Do you know the best 2 days of my life?" he asked and I shook my head. "The one that you announced that you're pregnant to me." he said while resting his hand on my 8 months old belly. "And the other one?" I asked and he giggled leaning in. "Coming back to me." he mumbled huskily and I furrowed my eyebrows. "You made me the happiest man around when you returned from Argentina." he said and kissed me. "This baby isn't yours?" I asked and he chuckled. "It's Lionel's. Can't you remember the deal we made? I am the daddy here." he said and I smiled. "I don't wanna lose you anymore." I said and my eyes got teary. "Hey, baby. I'm not letting you go ever again. Not anymore." he said and pecked my lips. "Not anymore." he whispered with his forehead pressed against mine. And for a moment, I believed him.
Waking up, I started breathing heavily. What was that dream like? I dialed Sofia's number and waited for her to answer. "Hello, hello!" she answered. "I had a scary dream." I mumbled wiping sweat off of my forehead. "What? Did you dream of giving birth?" she joked and I sighed. "No." I denied it. "But...I was pregnant. Marco was around me." I whispered. "He was what?" she exclaimed and I sighed. "He was with me. Or I was with him in Dortmund." I said shaking. "But...what was going on? And why the hell do you dream of being with him when the baby is Leo's?" she asked and I sobbed. "Sofia, I...I don't know. I really don't." I cried. "Listen, An, do you love him? Or do you only wanna be with Leo because of the baby?" she asked and I sighed again. "I don't know." I said and started crying hardly. "I don't know." I repeated. "Okay. Calm down. Calm down. Think about the baby." she said and I nodded trying to take normal breaths. "I wish there's a way to make things easier for you." she said and I smiled softly. "Do you think I could visit Leo? I...I need to see him." I cried. "I'm almost sure it could happen." she answered and I sobbed.
I cleared my throat stepping into the living room. Celia, Jorge and Maria Sol all looked at me. "I called Leo. I'll fly over there to talk to him." I said and Celia stood up. "What's going on?" she asked and I smiled softly. "Nothing serious." I said and she sighed. "Will you fly alone?" she asked and I nodded. "Yes. I'll come back tomorrow." I said and she sighed. "You're pregnant. What if something happens?" she asked worriedly and I shook my head. "Nothing bad will happen. There's gonna be a car waiting for me at the airport." I said and she nodded. "Whatever it is, I hope you'll deal with it." she said and I looked down on the floor. I don't even know why I'm going there...
