Saturday
It's Marco's birthday tomorrow. May 31st. I know how the day would look like if I'm in Dortmund. We'd celebrate. Me, Marcel, the other Marcel, Robin and a few more people. But it won't happen. He'll play the DFB Pokal tonight. The best gift to him would be the title. And I'm kind of thankful that I won't see the match. I don't feel like seeing Marco at all. My heart always drops a few beats when I see or hear about him. But he's perfectly fine without me. He not calling me which proved me that he doesn't truly love me. When he said that he does, it was just an imagination. Nothing else. No real feeling. Not at all. It was all imagination.
Marco's POV
The day is here. The day of final. A few weeks ago, I'd have told you that it's gonna be the happiest day of my life. It's my birthday tomorrow, final game and Ana in the stands. But now, although it should be the happiest day, it isn't. I should focus. I really should do it. But my mind keeps wandering around. When I imagine Ana cheering for somebody else than me, I feel sick. Even more than that. But I caused this. All of this is my fault. Yet I still keep imagining that she'll be here. Tonight. I imagine seeing her in the stands dressed in my kit cheering for me. I imagine her proud look while I'm holding the trophy. I imagine her lovely smile after the final whistle announces us, BVB, as the champions. But that won't happen. Because she'll be at Camp Nou cheering for her new boyfriend. I wonder how she managed to move on so fast. But then, living with a man who you don't love isn't impossible. Maybe she just wants to look as the old her - proud, confident, sure of herself.
Ana's POV
I was cleaning the cupboard when my phone started ringing. I answered it with a light 'hello'. "Hi An." Leo said and I smiled. I've grown used to listening to his voice. "Hi. Ready for the match?" I asked and heard the chuckle falling from his mouth. "Yeah. How are you?" he asked and I bit my lip. I feel terrible. For not being in Dortmund. Or in Berlin. It's Marco's birthday soon, although I'd like to wish him all the best, I can't. It's not my privilege now. "I'm excited. Can't wait to see you." I said. "I can't wait to see you too. Especially after the match. Hopefully, we'll be the ones holding the trophy." he said and I smiled. "You will be. And even if not, you'll be my champion after all." I said. "You know what? I got you something." he said and I giggled. "Yeah? What is it?" I asked and he giggled. "A badge. Barcelona's one." he said and I started laughing unconditionally. "What? I noticed that you have a red blazer. In the wardrobe." he said and I wiped my tears away. "And the badge will be the perfect detail on it." he said and I smiled. "You are so lovely Leo." I said quietly. "I love you Annie." he said and I took a deep breath to be able to repeat it. "I love you too." I said and looked at the watch on the wall. "See you after the match. That means in about 15 hours." I said and he giggled. "Cheer for me." he said and I nodded smiling gently. "I will be the one screaming your name." I said. "Bye An. Love you." he said and hung up. I'm gonna cheer for Leo. My boyfriend. Not Marco. Leo deserves my support. He loves me. He'd do anything for me. And the least I can do is replace Marco's match with Leo's one.
Camp Nou
"Sofia, just move already." I told her while she was taking step by step. "Okay. I'm gonna repeat it." she said and stopped walking. "I'm wearing high heels! I can't walk that fast." she said and I rolled my eyes. When we finally reached the row in which we'd be sitting, I turned to look if she's behind me. And again, she was 10 metres away from me. "Sofia." I whimpered and she sent me a death glare. "Leo won't run away! You will see him. Don't be in such a hurry!" she said and I chuckled. Sitting down, I placed my handbag on my lap. "Excuse me." a woman said from behind and so I turned around. "I overheard that you're Leo's girlfriend?" she asked and I eyed her carefully. "Y-yeah, I am." I admitted. I can already see myself at the cover page tomorrow. "I...I am Daniela. Marc's girlfriend." she said and only then I realized that I've already seen her. A girlfriend of Marc Andre Ter Stegen. "I am Ana. Nice to meet you." I said shaking hands with her. I had to introduce myself. Sofia will leave in a few weeks and I'd use another friend. "Excited for the match?" she asked with a grin on her face and I nodded gently. "Yeah. I hope they'll win." I said and she nodded. "I'm here." Sofia said when she reached me and I giggled. "Daniela, let me introduce my friend, Sofia, to yo." I said and they shook hands. "You two know each other from Germany?" Sofia asked and I almost slapped the back of her head. "Germany?" Daniela asked looking at me. "Yeah. Actually, I'm from Germany. Dortmund to be exact." I said and she smiled. "Oh! That's great!" she said and I smiled. "Is Marc in the net?" I asked her and she nodded with a light chuckle. "Hopefully, he'll be succesful." she said and I smiled. Looking around, I already realized that a few people are pointing their fingers on me. Some of them were even taking photos. Well, the next 3 hours will be either hell or heaven. Let's just focus on Leo.
The 20th minute was about to end when Leo started running towards the goal causing everybody to stand up. And...it's a goal! "A great boyfriend you have!" Daniela said rubbing my shoulder from behind. Yeah. My boyfriend. I'm wondering how BVB is playing. Sitting down after the celebration, I took my phone out of my handbag and started searching the result. It's done. The match has already finished. BVB lost 1-3. Marco was subbed. Not a nice birthday for him. If I were there, I'd be the one to make him feel better. If I were there, he'd... "Hey! Watch!" Sofia exclaimed already standing up. I looked at the pitch and noticed Neymar scored a goal. I hid my phone again hoping that Leo hasn't seen me with it. I want him to know that I'm supporting him, not scrolling down the internet...
The 76th minute and here we go again. Leo scored and pointed his finger on me causing me to blush. Suddenly, I appeared at the screen of Camp Nou. O-okay. I smiled and waved him trying to look cool. Lovely. Etc. He just chuckled and nodded his head. Okay. Amazing. So I'm officially his girlfriend.
Marco's POV
I was sitting in the locker's room looking down on the floor. I've got nothing. No trophy. No Ana. I wish she had been here. She's always been the only one who could cheer me up. Her smile while telling me to realize that there's much more in life than football even though I can't see it right now. Her eyes looking deep into mine making me realize that she's right. Her hugs which make me feel that she's here for me. I miss her. I miss every single thing about her.
×Ana's life will get a bit complicated in a few chapters. Something quite big will happen.
