Friday
Stepping into the huge airport building, I looked around to see her here. "Anaaa!" I heard my name being yelled and so I turned around. I had no sooner realized what's going on than she hugged me. "Hi Maria." I said and pulled away. "Welcome to Argentina!" she exclaimed happily and I giggled looking around. "Is...Is Leo's mom around?" I asked and she shook her head. "Nope. She and dad stayed at home. We'll be there in no time!" she said and I smiled nervously. Rosario. Here I am. Thousands of kilometres away from Dortmund. From my family. From my friends. From Marco.
Stepping out of the car, I gasped for air. Definitely not as our house in Dortmund. "It's...huge." I said and she giggled. "Leo bought this house." Maria said and I furrowed my eyebrows looking at her. "I mean, he wanted us to be together. And so, he bought this house. Our parents live here. And so does Leo when he's in Rosario." she explained and I nodded looking in front of me. Leo is amazing. He definitely is one of the family guys. I was about to kneel down for my hoodie which had fallen down, but Maria was quicker. "You can't kneal down just like that now that you're pregnant!" she exclaimed and I blushed biting my lip. "Let's go." she mumbled and took one suitcase of mine while I took the other one.
"And this is our living room." Maria said after the tour we've just taken. "It's beautiful." I said looking around. "An?" I heard a voice causing me to turn around. "Good..." but I stopped looking at my watch. "Afternoon." I added and Mrs Messi laughed. "Time zone, I know." she said and came closer to hug me. "We're glad to have you here." she said and pulled away. "You and...my grandchild, right?" she asked and I giggled shyly. "Yeah. Our baby." I mumbled and she smiled. "And my niece. Or nephew." Maria said and I bit my lip. Sometimes, I wonder if this isn't way too fast. "Leo is so happy." she said and I smiled gently. "Have you spoken to him, Mrs Messi?" I asked and she giggled. "I'm Celia and yes, I have. He made sure to make it clear. He wants me to look after you." she said and I nodded looking behind Celia's shoulder. "Ana!" Mr Messi called and I smiled. "Good afternoon." I replied and he hugged me. "Not too tight!" Celia said and he pulled away laughing lightly. "I know, I know. There's a little treasure here." he said looking at my tummy and I blushed. "How far?" he asked and I bit my lip. "3 weeks 6 days to be exact." I said and Celia clapped her hands. "Let's eat. You must me hungry, right?" she asked and led me to the dining room. It feels good being somewhere where I don't have to be afraid of running into Marco.
"This is Leo's room. And now, yours too." Celia said showing me the room. I smiled when I saw a kit. "I like it." I said and pointed on the phramed kit. "There are some of them in another room." she said and I yawned. "You shouldn't fall asleep." she said with a soft giggle and I nodded. "I'd like to talk to Leo." I said and she smiled. "Sure. Join us in the living room then." she said and I nodded. Seeing her walking away, I got ready to speak. "Celia? Thank you for letting me stay." I called and she turned around smiling. "It's Leo's house. And you're his girlfriend. And we like you." she said and I blushed. "Thank you." I said and she nodded smiling. "Go and call him. He's probably eager." she said and I giggled nodding my head. It feels so natural here. I'm not afraid of anything, nor anybody.
"Are you at home?" Leo answered the phone immediately. "Yes. I like it here." I said and looked around the room. "I wish I could be there with you." he mumbled and I looked down on the duvet. "How's baby?" Leo asked and I chuckled. A proof of drunk sex, that's what Marco said. "I'm starting to feel like a pregnant woman." I said bitterly. "Yeah? Do you feel sick, Annie?" he asked. "No, thanks God. I just...coffee isn't as tasty as it used to be." I said. "I'm sorry for that. I'll find you something better than coffee." he said and I could swear he's potuing right now. "I was thinking... I'll go to Rosario after the cup. Then, we could go on a holiday." he suggested and I shrugged. I kind of don't care. "And then, you could show me Dortmund. The city you grew up in." he said and I froze. D-dortmund? No. N-no! I...I don't wanna go there. "N-no." I said. "No what?" Leo asked. "No Dortmund." I said trying to think of an excuse why not. "No Dortmund? Ana, did anything bad happen?" he asked. Yeah? The man I loved slapped me. Insulted you and our baby. "No, everything...was good." I said. "Then why don't you wanna go there?" he asked. "Because...I don't wanna go there. I like Barcelona and Rosario more." I said. "You haven't even seen much of Rosario." he said with a chuckle and I shrugged. A city where nobody will slap me is good. "I like it though." I said. "Don't I have to worry, Annie? Was everything fine for real?" he asked. I don't wanna tell him. Because I know Marco would end up with a fracture. I shouldn't care about him, but I do. "Yes. Don't worry, please. Focus on football." I said. "Football, you and our baby." he said and I gulped. O-our baby.
