Reader, PLEASE listen to this while reading. it really helps set the mood...

Trigger warning: Suicide, gore, death.

I would suggest not reading this, if you are sensitive to these things.

It'd been three hard months. Three months of grief. Three months of guilt. Three months... without.... Him.

God, just thinking about him hurt...

Remembering the times you shared, felt like your heart was re-shattering, all over again.

You just couldn't take it much longer...

You sat on the cold, hard concrete floor of the saferoom. Everyone was asleep.

The memories of how he died, replayed over and over again. Images of his body, were forever burned into your mind, flashing vividly, every time you closed your eyes.

The five of you approached the entrance of yet another mall. It was just like the beginning... back when no one trusted anyone, and everyone was more than willing to kill you, if you so dared to get on their nerves.

The nostalgia was nice... in a strange, twisted, fucked up way.

The air was cold, grating against your lungs with each inhale. The breeze was gentle, kissing your warm, exposed skin, and drying out your lips. The sun was beginning to set, turning the sky's clouds a pale yellow. It was oddly calm... And suspiciously quiet.

"Y'all ready?" Coach asked the group, looking at the other four. Nods and hums came from everyone. "Let's go." He said, before shattering the glass door.

Everyone entered the sunlit edifice, their eyes adjusting to the dimness.

You could hear the faint sounds of common infected shuffling around or fighting. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The five of you quietly walked around, silencing your steps as best as you could. It was hard to avoid the gaze of the mindless infected, as they would turn around at the slightest sound.

This mall was much different than Liberty Mall, though. The middle of the first floor was a huge ice-skating rink, and unpowered fairy lights hung like waterfalls from the ceiling.

The mall was rather elegant, looking like it was designed by Nick. There were eight floors, the walls were white, the railings were gold, the glass had a very slight blue hue to it, the skylight was huge, the tiles were a beige granite, shiny as ever.

It was incredibly beautiful. Nick was even in awe of the place. Despite the gross infected that ran wild here, it still looked like it was in good shape.

This supply run was going to be fairly easy. The mall seemed pretty empty, and it was around sundown, so the commons would most likely be winding down to rest, for the night, as that was something you observed in common infected who resided in buildings.

"Y/n, I ever tell ya about the time my buddy Keith had his car drop off into a lake?" Ellis asked you, looking at you with his soulful blue eyes, fiddling mindlessly with the strap of his sniper rifle.

God, you loved his eyes. So full of life and happiness... they were bluer than the ocean itself, and sparklier than sapphires.

If Nick knew how you felt about Ellis, he'd probably do something irreversible out of jealousy. You knew he liked you, but your heart was set on someone else.
