I apologise for how short this is, I've been pretty busy-
Uh this is..auish? Definitely not Canon compliant
It isn't so clear at the start but the characters are The Orange Leader and Faceless
Summarised:
Faceless has fooled The Orange Leader, pretending to be one of his own. In a last ditch effort, out of fear, yet care for his people, he leads Faceless away, though the outcome isn't very...good.
---------
Heart pounding. The sound of blood rushing through his ears The steady pounding of feet against solid ground He had to buy his people some time, no matter the cost. They meant the world to him. That thing—that beast—had pretended to be one of them. They'd tricked him. They had made him look like a fool. And now they were after him.
His people. The Orange Steve's. He couldn't let that thing hurt his people. He remembered it had cornered him and lowered its disguise. It had no face, and then he ran. He ran out of fear, yet to distract. Every breath felt like a new fire igniting in his lungs.
Thinking back on it, making a new village in the middle of a huge field probably wasn't the best idea. Yes, it gave them an advantage in being able to see for miles, but when the enemy could pretend to be one of them, that wasn't entirely useful. Lightning thundered close to him, and he knew it was right behind him. Trees loomed in the distance; at least there was a forest close by; he could attempt to lose it in there, but for how long? It seemed persistent, like it never got tired.
Even though he felt like he could hardly run anymore, he knew he had to. He pushed on, grimacing as he breathed even harder, making it to the forest. He ran through the trees, making several sharp turns. Eventually, he darted into a bush, bringing himself as close to the floor as he possibly could. He winced as sharp thorns scraped and pierced his skin, seeing blood welling up where he was hurt, slowly dripping down, a warm orange colour.
The Orange Leader felt as though his chest was heaving, sucking in massive gasps of air, before he had to cover his mouth. He heard footsteps drawing in. He could just about see through little gaps in the bush.
There he was—the being with no face. The beast that tricked him, the beast who pretended to be one of his own His heart thumped faster and faster in his chest. It was just standing there. It was like they knew he was here somewhere, and it was only a matter of time until they found him.
Silence rang on until they continued moving through the trees. A small sigh of relief left his lips when he felt they'd gone far enough away. He thought he was finally safe. Suddenly, a hand came into the bush, grabbing him roughly by the leg and dragging him out, with him kicking and screaming along the way.
As it turns out, you can't exactly escape from Faceless when they're out for the hunt.
