🧑Nik Anthony POV🧑
Oh, Crap! What did I do?
Of all the women in the world, it had to be her. Damn it! I blame McCarty for inviting me out to drink despite knowing I'm not a drinker. It takes only two beers, if not less, to get me out of it. And earlier, I had lost count of how much beer I had.
What did you do? I stare at my attractive features in the bathroom mirror. How can I even face her now after what I did? I wasn't in my right mind. If I were, then I wouldn't act in such a poor, unmanly manner as I did earlier. But that's no excuse. I've done something repulsive and deserve to be punished.
Please take me right now. Earth, just open up and swallow me whole.
Mother's barging into my bathroom brings me back to reality. It's a good thing I had a towel covering my lower half, or else this would just make my day even worse.
I also need to start locking my doors from now on since my mother doesn't seem to understand what the word privacy means. I mean, would it kill the woman to knock before she enters? Geez.
"So, how did everything go with Tajayah?" Mother pried.
Just the mention of that vile woman's name inflames me with rage. "OK. I guess."
"That's good." Mother smiled. "Did you two get to know each other better?"
"Yeah." Too much, that is.
"Isn't she a lovely girl? Smart, beautiful, sexy, and very hard-working," she ranted on about the maid, which is needless really. But strangely, Mother never bragged about anyone but herself. Something is up.
"Where did you even find her?" I inquired.
"Didn't you ask that last night?" She answered my question with a question. That's annoying.
"And you avoid answering me."
"What, you fell in love with her?" She taunted me.
"Far from it."
"Then you don't need to know then. She works for me, not you."
"I think I have a right to know about the people you let into my house."
"Yeah, yeah," she singed, annoyed. "The whole world knows this is your damn house. So please put a sock in it, boy. Before I do."
I kept silent, fearing that my mother would do as she said.
"Since you want to know about her so badly, I'll let the girl take in her documents tomorrow for you to investigate her."
"That's good."
"Anything else?" She was irritated by me. Imagine how I feel about having an obstinate child as a mother.
"How about you get out of my bathroom so I can get dressed? And please knock before you enter my damn room."
"Boy, I brought you into this world. I'm not interested in seeing your little Wiener."
"Get out, Mother!" Damn, she's so disgusting sometimes. She laughed at my embarrassment and left me alone.
I'm glad that's over with.
Now it's time to go to bed. I have a troublesome day to deal with tomorrow. I'll also sleep with some earplugs and lock my room door tonight to block out my mother's disturbances.

The next day, I completed my morning hygiene and was about to head downstairs when I overheard my mother and the maid having a conversation. To be honest, I was a little embarrassed and scared to go down because of yesterday's incident.
What is this? Afraid in my house.
That's silly.
I summed up what courage I had and went down, greeting my mother, who gave me a bad eye. But I ignored her. There is no way I'll greet that witch. I still don't like her.
"So, as I promised, I've obtained the girl's document. Here it is." Mother handed over some papers and an identification card to me. "I hope you find what you are looking for." She left me alone with her. Ugh, why?
Damn, this is so awkward. After all, that happened yesterday, I think I'm going to throw up. I can't stay here.
As I was about to leave.
"Glad to see you are sober, boss," she teased. The woman must think I'm a joke now. "And you don't seem as lively today as you were yesterday." She briefly eyed my groin as she said that, then laughed. I don't think down there has ever felt so much shame until now.
"About what happened yesterday, I wasn't myself, so I would appreciate it if you acted like it didn't happen." I've decided to grab the bull by the horn and clear the air of all misunderstandings.
"You want me to pretend as if my boss didn't sexually assault me?" she taunted. This wretched woman is just messing with me, typical woman.
"I didn't!" I yelled.
"But you did. You fondle my ass and throw yourself on me." She added pepper to the wound. I'm so ashamed of my actions.
"I'm sorry, alright!" I sounded a bit troubled. But I meant it. That man from yesterday wasn't me. But she won't understand that. Her species never does. "Like I said, I wasn't in my right frame of mind. OK."
"Well, the next time you do something like that—whether you are in your right mind or not—I will cripple your thingy and destroy your seeds, understand," she threatened.
Sound very painful. I even subconsciously place my hand in front of my crotch. Just the thought of her doing that makes my blood run cold. "Understood."
"Well, as long as you do. I will let this slide. And while we are at it, I'm not some gold digger. I don't want your money. I'm a girl who worked for what I wanted out of life." She took the fifty thousand dollars I gave her yesterday from her handbag and handed it to me. This is shocking.
Is she serious? No woman would return that much money willingly. What's her end game here?
"If you count it, you will see every dollar is there."
I don't need to count it since it's in the same manner I gave it to her yesterday.
"What are you doing?" I just had to know her reason for doing this.
"It seems you are not only dumb, but you're blind as well. I'm giving you back your money, though I deserve it for keeping up with your bullshit."
I was speechless—too shocked to come up with a comeback.
"And let me just get this off my chest as well. I don't care if you like me or not. I'm not here to be liked. I'm here to work, that's all. And as poor as I am, I'm not a thief or a criminal. Well, I did beat an ex-boyfriend silly and go to jail once. I don't take shit from people. I've been unemployed for a long time. And if you want to know more, you can ask me face-to-face instead of using your mother to do so. Mama's boy."
"I'm not a mama's boy," I snorted. How rude. However, she can't seem to help herself. But since she found it in her heart (if she has one) to forgive me for my transgression, I'll let this slide.
"If you say so. Anyway, I'll take my leave now. There is still a lot of work to be done here."
I watched her crazy ass leave the room and shook my head from side to side. This woman is truly something else.
