👧Tajea POV 👧

As I was giving this place the last cleaning of the day before I leave for home, some bastards came barging in unannounced and uninvited, startling the sh*t out of me.

Damn it, they really need to install some form of security system around here. You know, get a few security guards or something for this damn palace.

Anyone can just step right in without anyone knowing, and that's unsafe. This bastard is also lucky I stopped walking around with a pocket knife. This would have turned out to be very messy.

Anyway, back to the bastard. He seemed to be in his mid-twenties and somewhat resembled the prick. Attractive face, dark brown hair, and similar body structure. But the prick is way better-looking and more buffed. Again, I'm just stating what I've observed.

I assumed it was a relative of the jackass. Maybe a brother or a cousin? Not that I care. So it's safe not to sound an alarm. I think.

He seemed kind and polite. But for some reason, I sensed something a little off about him—call it instinct, if you will.

Too bad I didn't have the same instinct several months ago when I was dating that jackass.

Moving on. He introduced himself. Nikolas Durcostan. Nik Anthony's younger brother. My guess was correct. And what kind of last name is that?

He requested to speak with Mr. Prick. And because I wanted to get rid of him so I could get out of here, I gave him the direction to the prick's room.

Now that's over. It's time to get out of here.

Inside my quarters, while I was gathering my things. I heard a commotion coming from the prick's room.

And you know, girl curiosity got the best of her. I just had to get closer to get a better hearing of what's going on.

The prick sounded really upset. It seemed his brother's reason for being here was to get money for someone named Junior, who is critically ill.

If that's the case, what's there to be upset about? I mean, if someone close to me wants money for something that important and I'm filthy rich and issuing out money to strangers like Christmas presents, I wouldn't hesitate to give it to them.

But it looks like I jumped to conclusions too quickly. Sue me. What I heard next made me understand why Mr. Prick was so upset. Why he was reluctant to give Nikolas money, that is. The young man was a con artist, a damn scammer. I knew something was off with him.

Then there were beating sounds and grunting. At first, it came to mind to just leave the house. This, after all, has nothing to do with me. But like I said earlier, girl just has to know what's going on.

My eyes beheld my naked boss beating his younger brother to a pulp. That's not disturbing at all. And even though I didn't want to get involved because the scum deserved it, I had to intervene, or he might have killed the fellow. And the last thing I want to be is a witness to a murder.

Darn it! I'm not only a housekeeper but a damn referee now. I deserve a raise, for sure.

Ms. Radnor also got involved in the drama. The younger brother threatened to get the police involved if Mr. Prick didn't give him money.

Unbelievable! He's blackmailing his brother because his attempt to fake his child's illness to get money failed. Damn shameless.

I should have let Nik kill his filthy ass. But if that happened, Nik would go to prison and bye bye Twelve K a week.

Anyway, the matter got settled in the end, or so it seemed. Nikolas has agreed to give Nik custody of the child—his child—for six million dollars. Like, who does that? How heartless.

Even though I feel the need to beat his ass right now, I refrained from doing so. Simply because this doesn't concern me. But poor Nik.

One look into those bright brown eyes, and you could tell he was troubled—uncomfortable with the whole situation, even. He looked heartbroken, disappointed, and destroyed, too. Who wouldn't be if they had a monster for a little brother?

And not the imaginary one that they told you about under a child's bed. A real-life demon possessing human flesh.

Ugh! Family. They are a big load of sh*t sometimes, if not all the time. Believe me, I know this better than anyone.
