🧑Nik Anthony POV🧑
For the rest of that day, Tajea and I did what we do best now. Make intense love. For hours. Again and again. This amazing woman had me working overtime on that kitty cat. Like a slave on her plantation. Haha. Not that I mind.
Now, I'm so damn exhausted and out of fuel. But believe me, it was worth it. And if I had the energy, I'd do it all over again and again.
We then talked about what really happened to me yesterday. The plane crashed. My worst fear at that moment and how frightening it was. The people who tried to have me killed and why. But I assured her I had them taken care of, so there was no need for her to worry.
However, she still seemed concerned about my well-being, worried about what I did to those people. But she didn't ask about them in much detail. Though it was probably killing her to do so.
Thank goodness. I can't bear her look of disgust towards me. And that's what she would be if I told her the truth about what I had my people do to those scumbags.
We fell asleep in each other's embrace. This is all I asked for now and every day after this. And by the time we awakened, it was a little to twelve, noon. We made love, had lunch, and then flew back to Orion City.
As for Regina and McCarty, they already returned without us yesterday. One of the guards informed me.
Anyway, as I opened the front door to my house, my smile turned to a frown. My perfect day was ruined. And here I thought almost dying in a plane crash was a horrible thing. Heck, I'd take that any day over this.
Now, as to what put me in such a sour mood, it's that ex of mine. No, not Toni. The other ex, Amelia. She is here. In my home. On my damn couch. Breastfeeding an infant, about several months old, while conversing with Mother.
"Why are you here, Amelia? What do you want?" The very sight of this b*tch is very upsetting. It brings back some good and painful memories. Memories I'd like to forget. And it's somewhat hard to do so with her here. "I thought I told you to stay away from me. That I never want to see you again."
The sudden changes in my tone and mood seemed to have startled Tajea.
"I brought her here because she claimed this baby was yours, Nik." Mother's response was equivalent to a knock-out punch.
"What?" I was very confused. That's the stupidest thing I've heard in my whole life. Then I said angrily to Amelia, "I don't know what type of game you are playing here, but if it's money you want, you're not getting a penny."
"I'm not playing any games here, Nik. This baby is really yours." Amelia seemed a hundred percent sure that that baby was mine.
"Like hell it is?" I roared. "You were sleeping around with every Tom, Dick, and Harry while we were together. There is no way that baby is mine. Oh, I see. The real father, whoever it is, neglected your child. His parental responsibilities, so you want to try the next best option. Your stupid ex-fool, Nik. Well, sorry, love. I've wised up. Your BS won't work on me any more."
"Why don't you do a DNA, then?" Amelia suggested. "You will see I am telling you the truth."
"Humph, truth? Is it even possible for you to do such a thing?" As far as I know, anything coming from this sly, conniving, wicked b*tch's mouth is a lie. That's all she does. Lie and cheat all the time. "And there is no need for that. Because that is not my kid."
"A couple of days after you broke up with me, I found out that I was two weeks pregnant with your child. My baby Kira is six months, three weeks, and four days old." Amelia tried to explain her crazy allegation of me being her child's father, but I don't care. I'm done with her and her BS.
"That's no proof that this baby is really mine. And if it was, why come now? Do you enjoy making my life a living hell? Well, join the line. I have many people out there for that."
"I don't care about all of that," Amelia said. "All you need to know is that this baby is yours. And you are going to take care of her, or I'll go file for child support."
"Kenneth, please take her out of here," I ordered. Damn, this girl is begging me to strangle her to death. And I just might if she stays here any longer.
"No need for that." Tajea stopped Kenneth from carrying out my orders. Surprising. But why? She then looked at me as if reading my mind and said, "And you need to cool your damn head down and think about other important things than your feelings right now. You will have a DNA test done."
"But," I stuttered. Why is she on Amelia's side and not mine?
"No, but, Nik! You did have sex with her. However, long ago, that may have been. And based on how old the child was when you broke up with her, there is a possibility that this child might be yours."
She's right, but I'm sure a hundred percent that this baby isn't mine. OK, maybe not. But I won't fall for this trap again.
"Thank you, whoever you are," Amelia said to Tajea. Her scrutinizing eyes scan Tajea from head to toe.
"Oh, don't thank me, honey." Tajea responded. "I'm doing this for the child's sake. But if it turns out that the baby isn't Nik's baby and you are using this child for selfish reasons, I will whoop your ass so hard that you won't be able to sit on it for weeks. That's a threat, not a warning."
"Now go call the doctor, Nik." She addressed me harshly. Oh sh*t, she's upset about this whole situation. But she's handling it better than I thought. Well almost.
"Fine." I snarled and left to go do as Tajea said. I called up my doctor, who arrived at my house less than an hour later. He took DNA samples from the child and me, then left to go test them at the lab. By the next two or three days, I'll get the result.
Now that's over, Amelia can leave with her child. However, my mother suggested I let her stay here until the results came back.
Excuse her. What's wrong with Amelia's home? There is no way this b*tch is staying here.
And before I could protest, Tajea agreed with Mother to let Amelia stay. She even gave me that I'm not taking no for an answer look.
Oh, fine. But I can't stay here. So, I kissed Tajea goodbye. And you don't have to guess. I went to McCarty to tell him the hilarious news about Amelia and my alleged kid.
"Your life is just one big drama after the other." McCarty teased, slapping my back. "I mean, you just survived a plane crash a few days ago, and now baby mother drama." Haha.
"Tell me about it." I sulked, sipping on my beer.
"You know, someone should write a book about you and all your drama. But they'd probably run out of pages or whatever they used to write. That's because your story just never seemed to have an ending."
"This ain't funny, man!" I whined.
"Alright. Haha." Then McCarty became serious. "But what if that kid is yours, bro?"
"Pah, that's highly unlikely." I don't want to think about the possibility and then get disappointed. So, it's best to accept that it's not mine. "Beside, Amelia is just using the child to get money out of me. I mean, why else is she here after over a year of not seeing each other?"
"You may be right about the money part," McCarty said. "But seeing how she was so determined to get a DNA test done, I think it's your baby, man."
"Well, a few days from now, we'll know for sure. And if it is, then I'll take full responsibility for it. But if not—"
"Let's just wait until the results come back," he cut me off. "Until then, just drink away your sorrow."
"Yeah." That's a good idea.
