👧Tajea POV 👧
It's been a long time since I've felt so anxious and scared about anything in my life. I mean, the outcome of this could change life as I know it. Or maybe not. Well, there is only one way to find out. And Nik holds the answers in his hand.
OK, so I'm sure you all must be confused. Questioning what this crazy b*tch is overreacting to now. Well, let me state this in a simpler and more understandable way.
The day that we've all been waiting for is finally here. Inside screams.
Oh, you still don't get it, do you?
What I am trying to tell you is that the paternity test results are out. It arrived this morning at Nik's house via bearer.
Nik was too scared to open it alone. So he requested my presence in the living room to do so. And as his woman, though we haven't officially announced that yet, it is my duty to stand by him in times like these.
That B*tch. I mean, Amelia was also here with us. And that's a good thing, because if this kid isn't Nik's, this girl is in for a smackdown.
But if it turns out to be Nik's baby. Deep sigh. Let's just see the results.
Ugh, it felt like forever, but Nik finally tore open the letter. He then took another aeon to pull out the result form. He scanned the results silently, and from the look on his face, the outcome was as clear as day.
When it comes to seven-month-old baby Kira, Nik Anthony Phoenix is definitely the father. I know, I'm a bit disappointed too. But it is what it is. Or is it?
Nik looked so overwhelmed and shocked by this. He can't seem to come to the realization that this is true. But that's what this paper I'm now holding says. That baby, Kira, is Nik's biological daughter.
"What did it say?" Amelia asked impatiently. And seemed a bit on edge. My guess is that she wasn't even a hundred percent sure that Kira was really Nik's. This b*tch was just taking a leap of faith, and it turned out in her favor. Ugh, I hate this b*tch.
"That you get to live to see another day," I responded fiercely.
"This has to be some sort of mistake," Nik uttered, still in disbelief. "I'll have the doctors do another test."
"You used the best doctor that money can buy to do this test. There is no need for a second test," I said. It would be foolish of him to do so. The result would be the same.
"But," He stuttered. His eyes glimmered with guilt and concern for me.
"Don't worry about me. Just be the best dad you can to that child." It was a hard thing to do, but I forced a smile. Just so he wouldn't feel too guilty about this. After all, none of this is his fault.
Life is just a b*tch named Amelia. It doesn't always go the way we want it to. But we can't let that get us down.
"I told you it was your child," Amelia cheered on. This means money for her, or at least that's what she thinks. I'll see to it that Nik doesn't give her a red cent. It's not like I want to tell him what to do. But Nik loves giving away his money like a charity foundation. Even to those who don't deserve it.
On second thought, I let him handle his business however he sees fit. I was gearing up to leave, but Nik stopped me.
"No. Please don't go," he pleaded. And I assured him I would obey his request with a nod.
"How much do you want for the baby?" Nik began negotiating with Amelia.
"Excuse me? I'm not selling my baby to anyone," Amelia stated furiously.
Wow, she's not a total sh*t after all. However, don't let that fool you. This woman, in some way or another, is just as bad as Toni is. She might not have the heart to sell her child like a market item. But I have no doubt she will use this baby to force Nik into doing what she wants.
"What do you want from me, then?" Nik asked.
"If you want to be a part of baby Kira's life, you will have to get married to me." Amelia made a ridiculous demand. What did I tell you?
This b*tch is even more sick in the head than I am. And that's really bad. I literally had to bite my tongue to keep quiet. So badly, I want to swat her like the pesky fly she is. However, Nik is grown. I'm sure he can make a decision for himself. After all, he's not stupid enough to say yes to her.
"Are you stupid or something?" Nik scoffed. "Why would I do such a thing?"
"Because you want to be a part of your daughter's life. And marrying me is the only way that will happen," Amelia replied. How shameless.
Nik smirked. "You know I could just take my child from you without giving you a dime, right?"
"I know you are filthy rich and well-connected, Nik. But you are also a good man. You wouldn't dare separate a baby from her mother without a good reason, would you?"
"Humph. There are so many reasons I want to take my child from you, Amelia," Nik replied. "However, for the past few days, you've been here. You have proven you are not a horrible mother, as you were a girlfriend. You are a money-hungry succubus. But you seemed to truly care about your baby."
"Of course I love my baby," Amelia snorted.
"And that's the only reason why I'm trying to handle this situation in the best way possible," Nik voiced angrily. He then took a breath to calm himself. "So here is what I'm proposing. I'll buy a house for baby Kira. And you are welcome to live there free of charge and carry on with all your antics. Live your careless lifestyle as you see fit. I'll be responsible for everything pertaining to my child. Food, clothes, education, etc."
"No! You must get married to me, or you will never see our daughter again." Amelia threatened.
