🧑Nik Anthony POV🧑
My backstabbing jackass of a brother, Nikolas, and that conniving woman I was once in love with, Toni Mareston, came to visit me the next day. As I knew they would.
It's obvious that my brother is desperate for money, which is why he came here yesterday to scam me out of money. But when that didn't work, he tried blackmailing me into giving it to him.
This is why I've decided to exploit his greed for this worthy cause to get what I want. The handsome seven-year-old boy who sat next to my mother on the sofa. My precious little boy whom I haven't laid eyes on since the day of his birth, Nikolas Junior. However, I've seen pictures of him all the time, thanks to my mother.
Anyway, I had my legal team file a termination of parental rights yesterday. Normally, it would take a few, if not several, months to get this done. Not to mention a few court hearings. If you're poor, that is. But when you have money, you get things done at the snap of your fingers. No questions ask.
They also draft up an affidavit of voluntary relinquishment and an affidavit of waiver of interest for them to sign.
However, even with a signed voluntary relinquishment or waiver of interest, parental rights are not terminated until a judge signs a court order terminating those rights. And I happened to have a judge on standby who would do just that.
"Nik," Toni greeted, showing off her best devilish smile. As if we were good friends. As if she didn't destroy my whole damn life. "How are you doing?" As if she cares. "Did you miss me? Do you still love me?"
Is she for real?
"The quicker this exchange is over, the sooner we can all carry on with our lives," I replied. It sickens my stomach to be in the same room, breathing the same air as these pieces of shit.
Nikolas wanted to hurry the process and be done with this. Toni, on the other hand, decided to get clever. The greedy b*tch wanted more money.
Forty million, to be exact. I didn't argue, though. I just complied with her outrageous demand. But by doing so, my brother's eyes got even redder. He demanded more money as well. The same amount as her, along with the six million I promised. This is pissing me off. Nonetheless, I agreed.
But I know that no matter how much money I give these two, they won't be any better than they are right now. They will end up back at square one, broke and pathetic. Nik Jr. is also worth more than this petty cash.
Mother tried to get involved in the negotiation, and I stopped her. I know what she's thinking. This is not right. That this is unfair. But I expected this much and less from these trashes. After all, they have no morality, dignity, or shame.
Anyway, the two human wastes settle at forty-six million dollars each. I then wrote the checks, and they signed the documents renouncing their rights to the child, thus appointing me as the official guardian of the child.
As of now, the child will be called Nikcaleon Radnor Phoenix.
Note: My last name was really Durcostan. However, I ditched that name to cut off all connection to my father and changed it to Phoenix. This signifies rebirth. My rebirth.
"Now that's over with, you two can get out of my house," I demanded.
"Pleasure doing business with you, brother," Nikolas stated with so much joy as he made his way out the front door. I hope I never see him again.
Toni was about to leave as well, but seeing my new housekeeper enter the living room stopped her in her tracks.
Oh, no, this is about to get messy. For Toni, that is. But I didn't stop her. After all, I'm intrigued to see how this will go down.
Mother made a swift disappearance with Nikcaleon upstairs. Something tells me she wanted the housekeeper to roast Toni as much as I do.
"What's this? This is what you've come to. Haha." Toni ridiculed and carried on like the spoilt brat she is. "A fashion rejects. A street trash. Shame on you, Nik. I mean, what could this filthy girl possibly have over me?"
"Class and ambition, just to name a few," Mother Pepper replied snappily. As I expected, she would. There is no way she can stand getting dissed, nor is she easily intimidated.
"Excuse me." Toni seemed surprised that she got insulted, and from someone her tiny brain saw as inferior to her at that.
"Wow, let's add intelligence to the list of things I have that you don't."
"You can't talk to me like that. You savage little wh*re," Toni stuttered, then laughed like she was on crack. "Dressed like you are from the era of the rejects."
"The same era as your pea brain." Tajea clapped back. Next, she took a deep breath. A mechanism to calm her bad temper, I presume. "Girl, it would do you good to just run out that door while you have the chance."
Please don't, Toni, not yet.
"Humph. You damn hood rat." Toni scoffed.
Thank you.
"Very proud to be," Miss Hot and Saucy stated cockily. "It's better than being a leeching, shameless tramp. I mean, what type of mother gives up their child for money? You know what? Don't even bother trying to answer that." She shut Toni up before she could answer. "I doubt someone with an IQ below negative zero is capable of doing so anyway."
"Well, you have a bad sense of fashion. You, you. Hood rat!" Toni bumbled.
"If I get a penny for every time someone tries to diss my clothing," Tajea clicked her tongue. "You see, what trash like you failed to understand is that no matter how fancy you're all dressed up or how overbaked in make-up you are, it cannot cover up what a piece of shit you really all are. You are not as beautiful as you want the world to think you are, sweetie. You are ugly from the inside out, and there is no surgery in the world that can fix that. Frankenstein... Yeah, my sense of fashion is bad. My hair is a mess. I am a hoodrat, so what? How is that your problem? How does that make your life any better or worse?"
Toni couldn't stand this constant bashing anymore and decided to do something stupid. She attacked Mother Pepper, who slapped her across the face. Then smack her four more times until she falls to the floor.
OK, this is going too far. I probably should put a stop to it. But why? This is the good part.
"Do you want more, b*tch?" Tajea taunted as Toni picked her worthless ass up from the floor. "It would be my pleasure to knock some sense into that hollow head of yours."
"You filthy little b*tch!" The crying Toni screamed before running out the front door as if someone had set her on fire. Wishful thinking.
I can't say I didn't full-joy that.
Mother Pepper then glared at me, forcing me to conceal my amusement.
Gulp, this is not good. It looks like she's about to implode. She wanted to tell me off. Luckily, God is on my side. She just left without a word. Dang, that must have been really hard for her to do.
