Chuuya found himself seated in a storage room with Elise, who had taken it upon herself to challenge his denial and encourage him to embrace the idea of dating Dazai.
"Even though you deny it, Chuuya-nii likes Dazai-nii, right? Being a Tsundere is no good; these days, people like the cute type!!!" Elise declared in her wise voice, holding up a book with a cover that read "Romance for Dummies."
Chuuya couldn't help but look exasperated, realizing he might have no choice but to confront his feelings at this point.
"For God's sake, I don't even think he'll like me back!" Chuuya complained, frustration evident in his voice, while Elise shot him a knowing look.
"Well, you're gonna have to try, and you better report how each situation goes," Elise asserted, her tone filled with determination.
Chuuya nodded, still feeling a sense of weariness. "Fine, give me the basics..."Elise, ever the love guru in training, opened the "Romance for Dummies" book and began listing advice. "Alright, step one: show genuine interest in his hobbies. What's Dazai-nii into?"
Chuuya pondered for a moment. "Well, he likes obscure literature and making suicidal jokes."Elise raised an eyebrow. "Okay, maybe not the suicidal jokes part. But literature? You can totally impress him with your knowledge. Discuss a book he likes or recommend something similar."Chuuya sighed. "I guess I can try that."
Elise grinned, flipping a few pages. "Step two: Compliment him genuinely. Something specific, not just 'you look nice.'"
Chuuya crossed his arms, considering. "He does have a weird taste in ties. Maybe I can compliment him on that?"
"Perfect! Now, step three: Find opportunities for casual touches. A light touch on the arm or shoulder can work wonders."
Chuuya's eyes widened. "Casual touches? Isn't that too forward?"Elise winked. "Just subtle, Chuuya-nii. You're not trying to start a wrestling match."Chuuya rolled his eyes. "Alright, what's the next genius move?"
Elise continued with the advice, and Chuuya begrudgingly listened, realizing that he might be in for a rollercoaster of awkward attempts at romance.
The next day
tip #1: give him a cute nickname
Chuuya grumbled in his seat, questioning why he had accepted such a ridiculous plan to get closer to Dazai. He found himself pondering why, out of all people, he was drawn to someone like Dazai.
As he sat there, he couldn't fathom calling Dazai anything other than his usual insults. "It's not like she doesn't have a point, but... If I call that bastard by a cutesy name, I'll probably puke a hundred times, then die of embarrassment," he mused, torn between the advice and his own reluctance.
Just as he was deep in thought, the devil himself appeared. "Oh! Good morning, Chibi!" Dazai greeted with his trademark grin.
Chuuya took a deep breath, steeling himself for what came next. He looked at Dazai and, with a slightly forced composure, replied, "Good morning, Osamu." The words felt foreign on his tongue, but he was determined to see how this newfound strategy would play out.
