Chapter 20

Today was the day of Lauren's 12 week ultrasound scan. Her mam was working so she asked if me and Leo would go with her. Leo was no longer pissed about the fact Lauren told me first about the pregnancy, which was good. I got up early and had a quick shower. I then got changed into a flowery dress with spaghetti straps. I put on my usual amounts of makeup. I grabbed my bag then left to meet Lauren.

I walked to the end of Lauren's street to see her and Leo waiting for me. I ran and gave Lauren a hug.
"For the first time ever you're late" Lauren laughed.
"Sorry I just couldn't will myself out of bed" I smiled.

We slowly walked to the hospital because Lauren's scan wasn't until 11.
"How are things?" I asked.
"Great" Lauren smiled brightly. It was kind of awkward because Lauren and Leo were getting all close. I was a gooseberry. But it wasn't too bad so I could forgive them.

When we got to the hospital we nervously waited in the waiting area. Lauren was told she had to drink a lot of water for it to work.
"Are you nervous?" I asked Leo.
"Uh no," he answered.
"Your hands are shaking and so is your leg" I pointed out. He shrugged and I laughed.

The midwife doing Lauren's scan seemed really nice. She took us into a scan room and got Lauren to lie down on a bed.
"So you're the boyfriend and are you sister?" the midwife asked.
"Best friend" I smiled.
"You might as well be my sister" Lauren laughed. The midwife continued asking questions as she put the jelly like stuff on Lauren's stomach.
"So are you doing your exams?" she asked.
"Yeah" Lauren answered.
"How are you finding them so far?" she continued the conversation.
"They're hard" Lauren answered.
"And stressful" I added.
"Don't forget difficult" Leo joined in. Me and Leo looked at each other then started laughing for no reason.

"Okay I'm going to put the scanner on your stomach now" the midwife told Lauren. She put the scanner on and a picture came up on the screen.
"There's your baby" she smiled.
"It's your alien baby" I joked. Lauren laughed at my joke.
"It's beautiful" she smiled.
"I'll just print that out for you now" the midwife smiled.
"Now are you sure there's just one?" I asked. "There's not another one hiding is there?"
"No it's just the one" the midwife laughed.
"Well I've lost a bet to Nadine then" I shrugged.
"You had a bet that we'd have twins?" Leo questioned.
"Yeah" I laughed.

We met Charlie on the way back from the hospital to get lunch. We decided that we'd go to Wetherspoons like we did on our first double date. Charlie held my hand and led me inside. We sat down on the same side of the booth and I placed my head on his shoulder. Lauren showed us all the picture of the scan.
"Aw your alien baby is a cutie" I laughed.
"It's not an alien" she shook her head.

We had a lovely meal and afterwards I went round Charlie's house.
"Charlie!" Brooke shouted as soon as we walked in. He gave her a big hug and picked her up.
"Hey" he smiled.
"Yay Kira is here" she exclaimed. "She's more fun than you. And she's really pretty"
"Aw" I said.
"Do you love her?" Brooke whispered loudly.
"Yeah a lot" Charlie whispered loudly back.
"Will you miss her?" Brooke asked.
"She's not going anywhere" he replied. He put Brooke down then took me upstairs. I put my bag down and sat down on my bed. My bag was really heavy because I was staying here tonight.
"Transformers marathon?" he smirked.
"Transformers marathon." I giggled.
"Maybe transformers will be our always" he joked as he put the movie in the dvd player.
"I love it when you quote my favourite books" I laughed.
"I'll be here forever" he joked while taking a bow.
"I'm never going to get rid of you am I?" I joked. He nervously laughed. We cuddled up and watched the movie.

We were halfway through the second movie when there was a knock at the door.
"Come in" he said while pausing the film. His mam opened the door and walked.
"Do you two want something to eat?" she asked. "We're ordering pizza"
"Yeah we'll have large pepperoni one to share" he smiled.
"Thanks Karen" I smiled.
"It's fine Kira" she replied while leaving.

When the pizza came we stayed say upstairs watching the second Transformers. We led cuddled up eating pizza.
"You know you're no good for my diet" I sighed.
"You don't need to diet" he told me while looking me in the eyes. "You're perfect exactly how you are" I smiled. He gently kissed my lips. I still felt fireworks ever time. I nuzzled my head into his chest. I was at home when I was in his arms.
