Chapter 24

The next Saturday was the girls weekend I had been looking forward to for ages; prom dress shopping. I got up early and had a quick shower before getting changed into leggings and a plain white t-shirt (basic life). I then just put on some concealer and put my hair up into a messy bun. I then grabbed my handbag and left to meet the others.

I met Lauren, Nadine, Imogen, Zoe, Lottie, Caitlin and Penny at the park and from there we walked to the train station. We sat down on table seats and just chatted while we were on our way to Cardiff.

When we got to Cardiff we went to find the dress shops. We found this really nice prom dress ship that was filled with gorgeous dresses. We walked in and started looking through the racks of dresses.

There were so many dresses that I didn't know where to start. There was everything from mermaid dresses to princess dresses in every colour from cobalt blue to the deepest emerald imaginable.

I flicked through the racks, unsure of both what style and colour I was looking for.
"Can I help you girls?" The shop assistant asked.
"Yeah we're looking for prom dresses," Penny explained.
"It's so exciting!" Zoe squealed. The assistant helped us all figure out our own styles and gave us each a selection to try on.

I went into the changing rooms and slowly changed out of my clothes. I struggled into the first dress, which was a blood red colour. It was really nice but really not me. I tried on a few of various colours and styles until the penultimate dress caught my eye. It was a gorgeous pink and looked like the prom dress I had always dreamed of. I pulled back the curtain to seek approval from my friends.
"You have to buy it!" Caitlin exclaimed.
"It's the one!" Lauren smiled.
"Let's see!" Nadine squealed while walking out of her changing room. She was wearing a style of dress that no one would expect from her. And the colour was so different to her usual colours but so perfect for her. She looked amazing.
"Woah Nadine!" I exclaimed.
"Woah Kira!" she replied.
"Those are the perfect dresses!" Imogen told us.

After Nadine and I got our dresses, we helped the others find there's. Which involved a lot of searching through racks and fashion comments. Eventually, we all found our dream dresses. We couldn't have been happier.

Once we were finished, we went to Frankie&Benny's for tea. We all sat down in a booth and started talking.
"How are things with you and Leo?" Caitlin asked Lauren.
"Fine," Lauren shrugged.
"What about you and Charlie?" Nadine asked me. "Has their finally been some pulling?" I must have gone bright red as I started awkwardly laughing.
"Oh my gawd there has!" Zoe exclaimed.
"Why don't you stop getting involved in our love lifes just because you don't have one!" Lauren snapped.
"Lauren!" I practically shouted. "Cool the hormones!" She rolled her eyes at me before laughing.
"Thanks for the bleak reminder," Penny sighed.
"You don't need a boyfriend!" I told them.
"Says the one with a boyfriend," Nadine sighed.
"You could have a boyfriend if you didn't make things so complicated!" Lauren exclaimed.
"Pass me your phone," I commanded Nadine. "I also want yours Zoe," They reluctantly passed their phones. I sent a quick text on each then passed them back.
"What did you do?" Zoe asked.
"I got you dates," I told them. "Nadine you are going with Bailey and Zoe you're going with Kyle. Thank your fairy godmother," They laughed.
"And Immy you're going with Adam!" Lauren told her.
"And as for you three who do you like?" I asked Lottie, Caitlin and Penny.
"It's a great offer but I don't need a matchmaker," Lottie protested. "I'm happy being single even if no one else is!" Penny and Caitlin sat in thought for a minute.
"Well Lottie's going to need her best friends to go with!" Penny exclaimed.

After dinner we all got the train home. We then all parted and walked in our separate directions. It had been a great day. And I was now more excited than ever for prom!
