Complicated Love (a Bars and Melody fan fiction)

Chapter 3

Everything happened so quickly. Punches were being thrown and one of them even got slammed into the wall.

"Stop!" I shouted but they didn't listen. Lauren looked at me and shook her head. They kept getting more violent.

"Grab Leo, I'll grab Charlie" Lauren said. I nodded. I grabbed Leo's arms. As I grabbed his arms one of his elbows hit me in the face. Lauren and I managed to get Charlie and Leo to stop fighting. As we pulled them off each other they continued to shout at each other. Suddenly one of the teachers came down the corridor.

"You four detention, NOW!" she shouted. "The rest of you get to class" We slowly walked to detention. No one said a word. When we reached detention Charlie and Leo went and sat in different corners of the room. Me and Lauren sat together.

"Kira your nose is bleeding" Lauren said. I wiped my nose. I looked down at my hand to see it covered in blood.

"Did I hit you?" Leo asked sounding bad. I nodded slightly. I could tell by Leo's expression that he felt really bad. Just then a teacher walked in. It was Mr Brown, one of the meanest teachers at school. He started shouting at us about how we should not fight in the corridors. He continued shouting at us for ten minutes. He then told us that we would have to spend the rest of the day in detention.

The rest of the day went extremely slowly. We were constantly being watched by a teacher so we were unable to talk about what had happened. When the bell went for the end of the day the teacher dismissed us and left the room. Charlie and Leo started to get their bags ready to leave.

"Neither of you are going just yet" I said. "We need to talk." They both sighed and sat back down.

"I'll give you guys space to talk. I'll be waiting down the corridor,Kira" Lauren said while getting her bag. I picked up my bag and went to stand at the front of the classroom.

"Who wants to explain what the fuck happened earlier?" I asked with clear annoyance in my voice. Leo looked down at his hands trying to avoid eye contact with me. I waited for one of them to answer my question. A silence formed between us. You could cut the awkwardness with a knife. Finally Charlie answered my question.

"He texted you off of my phone to ruin what we had"

"Yeah because you kissed the girl that I've liked for the last 2 years" Leo bluntly said. I couldn't believe what he had just said. He had liked me for ages but he was scared to tell me.

"Yeah but I like her too" Charlie replied.

"Shouldn't you guys follow some rule like 'bros before hoes'?" I queried. Charlie looked at me and narrowed his eyes. I nervously laughed.

"You two seriously need to kiss and make up. I can't stand knowing that it's my fault that you are fighting" I said.

"How can we be friends when we both like the same girl?" Leo asked.

"Okay so that did break the whole bros before hoes thing" I started. "But I'm sorry Leo but I would never be able to go out with you because I can't hurt my best friend. Because I follow 'mates before dates' and 'sisters before misters' and many other sayings. Unlike some people"

"Okay I get it! I made a mistake. Can you stop making comments about it" Charlie said. I nervously laughed again.

"You need to choose Kira" Leo said.

"You know my decision Leo don't make me choose" I sighed.

"Choose" Leo responded. I shook my head. He knew what my decision would be.
