Complicated Love (a Bars and Melody fan fiction)

Chapter 2

I spent the rest of the day thinking about Charlie. His hair, his eyes, his smile... My friends noticed that I was being a bit distant but when they asked what was up I just simply said "nothing". When I got home I was home alone as my mum and my dad were both working late. I went straight up to my bedroom took of my blazer and threw my bag onto the floor. I led on my bed, started playing one direction through my speaker and went on my phone. I couldn't resist but to search Charlie on Facebook. He was in quite a few of my classes so I learned that his last name is Lenehan. I wanted to look at his status and photos but he was private so I would need to send him a friend request to see it all. I spent a long time debating wether to send him a friend request but in the end I decided against the idea. I put my phone down on the side and just led back and listened to the music.

I drifted in and out of sleep all night. When I closed my eyes I saw Charlie's face.

When my alarm went off in the morning I jumped straight out of bed. I got ready quickly. Then I spent half an hour straightening my long light honeycomb hair so that it looked perfect. I then proceeded to check my make up. I have always thought that natural looking make up is the best way to wear make up. I hate make up that is plastered on; I think it makes people look too plastic.

When Lauren got on the bus she started chatting away to me about Zac Efron. I stopped listening almost immediately. I know that it sounds bad that I am not even listening to my best friend but honestly I couldn't care less about what trends Zac Efron is setting. It was when the conversation steered towards Charlie that I started to listen. "That new boy Charlie is quite hot isn't he?" she stated. "He's okay" I replied trying to stay cool. "You like him!" she whispered excitedly. "I do not" I quickly replied. "You so do! Your blushing! Kira I have known you 7 years I know when you like someone!" she exclaimed. I felt my cheeks burning. "Shut up, alright." I snapped. Lauren laughed and playfully nudged me. "Okay but I'm not letting it go" she laughed.

The rest of the day went quickly. I got to sit next to Charlie twice that day. The more I spoke to him the more I started to like him. In fact the rest of the week went quickly. When Friday came I had done nothing but homework and think about Charlie. Period five (the last lesson of the day) I had maths which meant that I would be sat between Charlie and Leo, the most loved boys in our year group. We had a great laugh and I came to find that both Leo and Charlie are really fun. When the end of class came I found myself disappointed that I had to go. Me disappointed about leaving maths! I thought that I was in an alternative universe. But no, I was just falling for the hot new boy. I left with Nadine to find Lauren and the others as we were all staying at Lauren's for the night. As we were walking down the corridor I heard someone calling my name. I turned to see Charlie and Leo walking towards us. "Hey Kira, you don't think we could have your number do you" asked Charlie. I couldn't process what he had just said. Nadine's glistening green eyes widened. She pushed her long jet black hair behind her ears. "Sure" I replied and gave them my number. I could hardly believe what had just happened. "Well someone just pulled" laughed Nadine as we walked down the corridor.

All five of us were sprawled across Lauren's living room: me, Lauren, Nadine, Kayla and Imogen. We were all on our phones while loud music played in the background. I was on Facebook when I received a text from unknown number. My heart fluttered. The message simply read:

Hi it's Charlie :)

Before I had the chance to reply I received another text from an unknown number:

Hi it's Leo :)

I saved both of their numbers then replied 'hey' to both of them.

The rest of the night was really fun we laughed, messed about, talked about stuff and just did all of the usual girly things. When I woke in the morning I found myself sprawled on the floor by the sofa. We were all led in different places around Lauren's living room. I was the first to wake up so I sat up and checked my phone. Nothing interesting had happened in the world of social media. Except, I had a Facebook friend request from Charlie. I straight away accepted with out hesitation.
