Chapter 30

We had to wait for our limousine to be able to pull up at prom because there were loads of people trying to get there. Some were in posh cars and horse drawn carriages while others were in milk vans and on toy horses on sticks. They literally were the two extremes. When we finally pulled up the chauffeur opened the door to let us out. The photographer took our photos then my mam and dad took even more photos of us. We hung about by the door and waited for the others to arrive as well.

Nadine, Bailey, Zoe, Kyle, Imogen and Adam arrived in a posh car that I didn't know the make of. Nadine was wearing a strapless purple dress with silver diamanté detail at the top. Imogen was wearing a big blue puffy dress that was strapless and had sequin detail at the top. Zoe wore a strapless dress that had gold sequins at the top and then went out into a gold dress with sequin detail. The boys were all wearing suits and looking posh.

While we were waiting for the others we saw Ryan and Carina arrive. Ryan was wearing a tuxedo and Carina was wearing a big puffy black dress with sequin detail. We also saw Saffron and Amber arrive. They were both wearing identical maxi dresses that had lace detail at the top in different colours. Saffron's was a light purple and Amber's was pink.

Lottie, Caitlin and Penny arrived in another posh car I didn't know the make of. They all looked amazing in their dresses. Lottie wore a big dark blue puffy dress with sequin detail. Caitlin wore a green strapless dress that was short at the front and long at the back. It had some flowers on it. Penny wore a short strapless pink dress that was frilly.

We all stood and talked for a while and had big group photos taken. I thought about how weird it was that our group had become so big. But we were all like a big family.

As we were about to go inside May, Kayla and Connie turned up in a horse drawn carriage. May was wearing a short, strapless pink dress with sequin detail around the waist and Liam on her arm. Kayla was wearing a short, strapless red dress with sequin detail on it. And Connie was wearing a short, strapless light blue lace dress. Everyone was staring at them and May seemed to be loving the attention.

As they were walking in May stopped and looked at me.
"You look really nice Kira," she smiled at me.
"Thanks you two," I complimented in return. It was weird that she was complimenting me. But it was a good weird. A nice unexpected weird. It was different.
