Chapter 16

NARRATOR

"Hey, Nick?"

No reply. Y/n was sure that she successfully linked her mind with Fury.

"Nick, you there? This is Y/n." Still no reply. "Ni-"

"Y/n?" There.

"Hi Nick. Did Hayward sent you something?" There was a pause for a moment.

"Yes," he answered.

"Tell me about it."

"They got you, but I can get you back in exchange I'd Maximoff."

"Don't. He won't hand me back to you."

"I know, that's why I'm making an alternative plan. I called Danvers and she's coming to help get you out," Fury explained.

"Nick, please don't tell Wanda no matter what happens. Don't tell her where I am." Fury nodded even though Y/n couldn't actually see him.

They talked for a bit, just asking each other how they're doing. Fury told her about how Wanda isn't taking things as good as him and Maria but that she doesn't have to worry because Maria is taking care of her. The link disconnected after a few minutes.

Back in the S.W.O.R.D. headquarters, a female agent entered Y/n's cell. "How are you feeling?" the agent asked. Y/n didn't answered. She's beat up for fuck's sake and yet the agent still asked if she's okay? "I'm sorry about what they did to you." Y/n looked at the agent, surprised as to why she apologized. "I should've handled all these tortures. I have better ideas than that brute," she murmured to herself. The moment their eyes met, Y/n noticed the lust that was etched at the woman's icy blue ones.

"A sadist, huh," Y/n mumbled to herself, not sure whether she was heard by the agent or not. She doesn't care anyway.

The woman produced a chain in her hand. Where it came from, Y/n doesn't know. She braced herself for the torture to come. The whip of chains hit her left arm making her cry out in pain. Another whip and it hit her face making her sight blur and her hearing muffled. The agent leaned in and examined the damage she made and chuckled to herself. At that moment, Y/n felt fear. She could die right then and there in the hands of this woman.

"Let's play, kid."

"Uhm... Nick?" Fury turned around and was faced by, not Wanda but the Scarlet Witch herself.

"You know where she is," Wanda said coldly. Fury and Maria were both speechless upon seeing that form of Wanda. "Since when?" No one answered. "Since. When." Wanda's voice went deeper, making Maria flinch. But still, no one answered.

Wanda's eyes turned red and looked at Fury. "I heard a little of your conversation with Y/n just a while ago before she forced me out." She took a few steps towards the man, but Fury stood his ground. "I don't wang to invade your mind but I will if you won't answer my question, Fury." Wanda's cold tone made Maria and Fury shudder.

Fury sighed, defeated. "Last night, Hayward gave me Y/n's location. They have her, but she'll let her go if I surrendered you in exchange." Fury looked at Maria who's glaring daggers at him.
