Last Time: Elizabeth, Poppy, and Annie spent one last night together, which ended up ending with a broom flight. The next day Governess Layton arrived to teach Annie only for Elizabeth to meet her first. After a rather rude conversation on the governess' part, the older woman was fired by a very angry Evelyn. The mother then had a heartfelt conversation with Elizabeth that ended with the teen finally coming to accept that her adopted family would never abandon her like her birth family had. That evening the family said their goodbyes before Poppy and Elizabeth made their way back to Hogwarts

Elizabeth and Poppy stepped out of the green flames in Professor Fig's fireplace hand in hand to find the old professor sitting at his desk waiting for them. "Good evening Professor Fig. Thank you for keeping the wards open for us to return." The ravenclaw grinned appreciatively. Despite all of the headaches Eleazar had caused her over the school year with their quest to learn more about her abilities; she was eternally grateful to the wizard. He had seen the shallowest depths of her darkness during the trials and yet he hadn't turned her in or pushed her away. And the way he had ensured she could return home to see her family... It touched her heart.
The old wizard looked up from the papers on his desk with a warm smile. "Ah, it is good to see you again, my young friend. I am happy to see you both have returned in one piece. I do hope you enjoyed your time back home, Elizabeth." Fig stood up to cross the distance between him and the young couple. "And it was no problem. I was able to obtain permission from Matilda to have the wards down in this fireplace without much issue. I do believe she has a soft spot for you."
Elizabeth giggled at that. She liked Vice Headmistress Weasley as well. Though she hadn't spoken with the older witch as much as she wished; the times she had Weasley had been kind if not a bit stern. It was easy for the young witch to tell the other woman was a good person at heart. "Yes, we had so much fun. Poppy and I were able to attend the Christmas Ball together this year." She turned from Fig to smile lovingly at her girlfriend, whose hand she still held. "It was wonderful..." Lizzy resisted the urge to lean in and kiss the shorter girl, though not doing so was incredibly difficult. They were back at school and Fig was a professor. So while Elizabeth had no desire to hide their relationship; she didn't think it appropriate to kiss her passionately in front of one of their teachers.
Professor Fig looked between the two teen witches for a moment before a knowing grin spread across his lips. "Ah, I see. I am glad you both had a wonderful time. A ball sounds delightful." A soft chuckle escaped his lips as she shook his head. "It is getting late; but the Great Hall should still be open for dinner if you hurry. I recommend you head there quickly if you have yet to eat dinner."
Poppy blushed a bit as her stomach growled at the wizard's words. "That actually sounds like a good idea." She smiled happily at Lizzy while lightly squeezing her hand affectionately. "What do you think Lizzy? Are you ready to eat?" The bright smile the brunette wore drew Elizabeth in so powerfully that she was unable to resist capturing her soft pink lips with her own despite her earlier misgivings. It truly was incredible just how much sway the hufflepuff held over her.
A soft groan vibrated in Poppy's throat as the auburn haired witch deepened their kiss to caress her tongue with her own as they became lost in their love for each other immediately. Soon though the clearing of a throat caused the young couple to break away from each other with dark scarlet upon their cheeks. "Ah, how incredible it is to be young and in love." Professor Fig chuckled as they looked back at him with mortified expressions upon their faces. "Don't worry, I won't deduct house points for improper public displays of affection." The kind old wizard laughed.
"Thank you Professor." Elizabeth replied gratefully as she let out a sigh of relief. "Oh, that reminds me Professor." She grinned widely suddenly as she drew her wand and summoned a small package wrapped in silvery decorative paper from her satchel. "Merry Christmas. My apologies for getting this to you so late." The young witch handed over the package as the older wizard gave her a curious look.
