Akira's POV

We were led towards a Marui pod by Tsireya. Tuk jumped energetically on the bouncy path. Neteyam and Lo'ak walked weirdly, which made me chuckle. It reminded me of penguins. I strolled and turned my head to look at the creatures and sea. Really beautiful.

" Yeah, this will work, it's nice right?" Jake asked as we entered the pod. Neytiri dropped the rug/carpet she was holding. I just sighed and walked further in, finding a spot and placing my bag down. Norm had given me some stuff: weapons (knives, guns, ammo, etc), gadgets (tracker, etc) and some clothes.

I returned just as the family was having their family meeting.

" Take a knee," Jake told them. I stood there awkwardly, feeling like an outsider. I turned around to go.

" You too, Akira," Jake commanded. I turned back and hesitated. Lo'ak grabbed my arm and pulled me down. I hissed at him. He smirked.

" Okay, I want you kids on your best behavior," Jake told us. I felt that was more addressed to me.

" I want to go home," cried Tuk as she rubbed her eyes.

" Aw Tuk," Neytiri said. Jake held Tuk's hand.

" This is our home now," he said.

" What does your father always say?" Neytiri asked softly. I didn't know so I stayed shut while the other said it.

" Sullys stick together."

" Sullys stick together, now with more feeling," Jake said. They repeated more cheerfully. I smiled at their family relationship. The warmth. The love. I felt a yearning for it. I pushed it away.

" Alright, now go explore," Jake said and waved us off.

" Akira," Neytiri called as I started to leave with the others.

" Yes?"

She breathed deeply before looking at me. She caressed my arm.

" Bear with it, alright?" I knew what she was talking about. The people will definitely point fingers at me. Call me names. Laugh. Joke. Etc.

I nodded my head.

" Now go," she said and smiled. I nodded again and went to Lo'ak who had been waiting for me.

" Hey, at least they don't get to point their middle fingers," he told me, smirking as he stuck his middle finger out. I chuckled.

" Yeah, but Neteyam doesn't get to, though," I reminded him.

" That's his loss," he laughed, and I joined him. We soon reached the water, the others were waiting for us. We exchanged smiles and dived in. Well...I dived, Lo'ak jumped. Oh shit...I forgot...I was wearing my jacket...oh well, too late to turn back now.

The scenery shocked me and I swam in awe. Yes, I know how to swim and (not bragging) I'm technically an expert. I glanced at Lo'ak who was slower than me. He'll be fine. I swam and stopped for awhile when a school of small fish circled me. My eyes widened as I saw an ilu swim towards me. It was really beautiful. It placed its head next to my cheek before twirling around me. It then swam away. I was a little taken aback. I looked around to see Neteyam and Tsireya looking at me. I waved and made my way towards them. They were near the surface, must have went up already. Lo'ak, Tuk, Rotxo and Aonung was with them. Kiri was probably still exploring.

I went up and smiled.

" Hi."

" Hey," Aonung said flirtingly, staring at me. I felt uneasy so I turned to look at Lo'ak. He was glaring at Aonung, I turned my head to look at Neteyam, he was too glaring at Aonung. I grabbed his arm and he stopped.

" Lo," I called, making Lo'ak focus on me. " Where's Kiri?"

" She's fine, I saw her admiring the corals just now," he replied. I nodded slowly.

___

We were now learning how to ride an ilu. Aonung called one.

" If you want to live here, you must ride," he told us. Lo'ak was first and Tsireya was his teacher. I smirked. He bonded and off he went. Oh wow...um...sorry Lo but...that was absolutely horrible. Everyone laughed. He came back and nudged his shoulder with mine.

" Stop snickering, Kira, it isn't easy alright?" he whined. I smirked.

" That was really horrible, Lo, sorry," I said, " Not."

He swatted my shoulder and I hit him on his arm in return.

" Hey!" he complained.

" You started it, Lo."

" Go try it, Kira, and stop snickering." he pushed me forward lightly. I looked at Neteyam and he mouthed ' good luck '. I sighed as Aonung gestured to an ilu. I took off my jacket. Seeing how Lo'ak did earlier, it seemed most likely that my jacket would fly off if I wore it. I tossed the jacket to Neteyam.

I felt some extra people staring at me. I looked around to see a group of teenage boys. I rolled my eyes. Right...I was wearing a sleeveless top...and the water made it stick to my skin, exposing my body shape. Yeesh, these perverts. Na'vi literally wears clothes that barely covers them.

The ilu was the one I had met earlier. I mounted as Aonung instructed, making the bond. His hand was touching my thigh slightly. I pushed his hand off.

" Okay," I breathed, " Let's go."

We went, fast. It felt like nothing I've ever felt before. The water current pushed me back but I managed. And I didn't have the same situation like Lo'ak. I could feel the ilu go slower a little, as if making it easier for me. I didn't lose my grip and managed perfectly. We twirled around corals and small fish circled us as we made our way back. A big smile appeared on my face. We stopped in front of the others as they cheered.

" You did it! OMG! You did it Kira!" Tuk exclaimed as I got off. She hugged me tight. Lo'ak had his mouth hung open. I smirked proudly.

He rolled his eyes, snapped his mouth shut and grunted, " Okay, you were good, very good, alright?"

" You'll get the hang of it!" I cheered him and we exchanged our usual exchange of smiles. We always do this. An exchange of smiles or grins. It was like...our routine. Neteyam handed me my jacket.

" Good Job," he whispered.

" Thanks, teyam," I smiled.

Then they went their turns. I watched Neteyam go. He managed to hold on a little longer than his brother but fell off too. Oh well.

They had to learn.
