A talk with Neteyam

Akira's POV

We were going to play this game for 5 rounds, and we were already on the last round. My bottle was half empty. One boy had already had his bottle empty. He was going to get his punishment after the games.

" Never have I ever...killed anybody," said a boy who I guess was tipsy. No one drank. I felt Lo'ak's eyes on me, questioning me. A slow smile crept to my lips. I grabbed my bottle and drank a gulp. I could hear the gasps from the crowd. I smirked. I've killed more than one.

" LET'S HAVE A BREAK BEFORE THE NEXT GAME, THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE OR JOIN THE GAME, PLEASE DO SO."

I smiled as I got up. Neteyam grabbed my arm as I started to walk away.

" Let's talk." 

He sounded serious so I followed him. We walked to a place where there were less people.

" What's wrong, Teyam?" I asked, completely confused.

" Sorry if I scared you," he said, grinning, " I just want to ask some questions."

Something lifted itself of my shoulders. I felt relieved, and I didn't know why.

" Go ahead," I smiled and gestured for him to go on.

" So, you've killed?" he asked, sounding deadly serious. If I was honest, it was kinda attractive...

Sorry if I'm weird. :)

" Yeah," I admitted, rubbing my neck, " It's kind of hard to run away from all those when you're in a gang."

" So," he gulped, " how many did you kill?"

Honestly, I couldn't remember.

" I don't know actually," I answered. I'm so honest. Good for you Akira! You didn't lie!

" Too many?" he said, looking down at his feet.

" No, not too many," I smiled and held his shoulder, " I hope this doesn't change things."

I really didn't want to lose my friendship with him. He and Lo'ak are my two dearest friends. Don't get me wrong, Tuk and Kiri are too, but I'm kinda more close with the boys.

" Nothing will change," Neteyam smiled as he grabbed my hand. We stood like that, holding hands, smiling.

I hope our friendship will last forever, Neteyam, I really do.
