Mickey's Narration

Summer, that time of the year where everyone wants to refresh. Leave behind all that baggage from the school year, no more worries about grades, fitting in, being reminded of failed relationships . . . it's all over for a whole three months.

And when you're back, that first day of school you have a chance to start anew. To feel like a new person because you're no longer that scared kid who was too anxious to make friends or the one afraid of being treated like a loser so you make a new persona. The first day of school was a day for all to have a brand new day with a brand new you . . a fresh start, a happy joyous day of reunions.

. . . But what's joyous about your first day back when your best friend has turned into the one person you NEVER want to see again, let alone have to see him every day for the next nine months. That sick son of bitch ruined my whole summer and in result ruined my year, *sigh*, but we'll get there

Let's go back to where it all came crashing down . . .

Regular POV

Mike and Mickey were laying in Mickey's bed late at night, the two taking in the last moments they would have together before Mike was off to Asian camp. Their summer had consisted of many moments like this. Hanging out together, whether it was just like friends do or friends with benefits. It never mattered too much to them, as long as they were together and could hold each other. It was safe to say they were closer than they had ever been before, and after everything that the previous school year had brought to them how could they not be?

"How long are you gonna be gone?" Mickey asked his best friend for the sixth time that day, causing Mike to roll his eyes

"You've asked me that like a hundred times, Micks," Mike chuckled, looking down at the boy on his chest,"I'm gonna be gone for three weeks, it's not that long," he told him softly, knowing how Mickey felt with his closest people being gone from him too long

"I'm sorry," Mickey apologized, sighing and turning to look up at Mike,"I just don't want you to go," he said, pouting slightly

Laughing lightly, Mike kissed his forehead,"I'll tell you what, I'll make sure to check in okay. And if you ever get extra lonely, you can call me and I'll answer immediately," he stated gently, and he was completely serious, he would drop anything for Mickey

"I'm sure that's gotta be against the rules," Mickey chuckled, and kissed Mike's cheek,"I can deal with you being gone for three weeks, if I get lonely I can always go to Santana or Britt," he said, and laid his head back down on Mike's chest
