Chapter 27: Moonbeam

The apartment buzzes with excitement as Jungkook checks the hospital bags over and over again. It is October 10th, the day their precious pup is due.

"Jimin, we can't wait to meet you." Taehyung coos as he gently rubs his large baby bump. "I hope you are excited to meet us, too."

"Blossom, I am sure that Jimin is very excited to meet us." Jungkook smiles and walks over to his pregnant omega.

However, despite their excitement, the day ticks by slowly. Taehyung and Jungkook stare at the clock and wait for Taehyung's water to break or for contractions to start. As the day slowly ticks away, so does Taehyung's misery.

With a huff, Taehyung gets up from the couch and begins roaming around the apartment. Jungkook watches with curiosity as Taehyung organizes the apartment he has been organizing for the past several days. Dr. Kim had informed them that Taehyung's nesting instincts would heighten the closer it came to Jimin's birth.

As Taehyung waddles to the nursery, Jungkook turns to his wolf form and follows his mate. Since Jimin is due at any moment, Jungkook never lets Taehyung out of his sight. 

The large black wolf sits at the nursery doorway and watches his mate rearrange the pillows on Hoseok's bed and check everything needed for Jimin's birth.

After checking the apartment multiple times, Taehyung sighs and waddles over to his mate. The omega pouts and pats his mate's head, then waddles to their room, where Hoseok is sleeping in their nest.

"Jimin, please hurry," Taehyung whines as the sun begins to set.

"Everything will be okay." Jungkook softly tells his mate.

That night, they lie in their nest and cuddle, waiting for the moment their Jimin decides he is ready to say hello. Because they are anxiously waiting, neither of them ends up sleeping. Taehyung's pout grows as his joints continue to hurt and his body aches from the pregnancy. Sensing his mate's anxiety and discomfort, Jungkook turns to his wolf form and curls up around the miserable omega.

When the sun rises on October 11th, Taehyung huffs and looks at the sun. "Stop mocking me. I know my pup is healthy. I can hear his steady heartbeat, so why is he still inside? Is it really that comfortable inside?" Taheyung groans in misery as he glares at the risen sun. When he feels a strong contraction, his eyes widen in surprise. 

"Early labor has started. Finally." Taehyung sighs and snuggles close to his mate.

To comfort himself, the omega runs his fingers through his mate's soft fur. He can feel that his pup is healthy and early labor has started, so he is not too worried. When his tummy growls with hunger, the omega rolls out of bed and groans as he carries his large tummy to the kitchen. He grabs a large jar of kimchi and carries it to the counter. I am craving kimchi. Hmm, crunchy kimchi is delicious.

"Oof." Taehyung grunts when he feels a strong contraction. He gently rubs his tummy and continues to munch on his kimchi.

"Blossom, are you okay?" Jungkook softly asks as he hugs his pregnant mate from behind and places his hands beneath his mate's stomach to help relieve some of the weight.

"I am okay. I am just in early labor, so I am having uncomfortable contractions. Dr. Kim said it is nothing to worry about since it is normal to be in early labor for a few days. He said I am not ready yet since I just started having contractions." Taehyung sighs as his mate comforts him. "But, I am also very tired of being pregnant. I just want to hold Jimin." Taehyung cries and looks up at his mate with teary eyes.

"I know, Blossom. Just give him a few more days. He will be born soon, and you can hold him as much as you want to." Jungkook softly tells his crying mate.
