Hyesun runs all over the city, buying all of Jongin's favorite foods, flowers, balloons, and anything that catches her eyes that would make Jongin smile. Once her car is filled to the brim with gifts, she calls Jongin.

"Is everything okay?" Jongin's voice is soft and filled with worry when he answers the phone, but he also sounds tired and hurt.

"Where are you?" Hyesun asks as her heart clutches in pain.

"I'm on the hill," Jongin quietly mutters, looking out at the city beneath him as he sits underneath the large hackberry tree.

"I will be right there. Wait for me." Hyesun tells him as she presses on the gas and speeds through the busy streets.

"Are you okay?" Jongin becomes worried when he hears Hyesun speeding.

"I am okay. I just need to see you." Hyesun responds as she speeds through a yellow light.

"I'm not going anywhere, so stop speeding. Take your time." Jongin quickly tells the hot-headed alpha when he hears someone honk at her.

"Okay." Hyesun mumbles and slows down.

When Hyesun arrives at the hill, Jongin hears her screeching to a halt on the side of the street. He has gone to sit under the tree to think because he has just booked the summer trip he has planned for Hyesun, and he hates himself for hoping.

"Jongie!" Hyesun calls out as she struggles up the hill with everything in her arms.

"Star! What did you buy?! Did you go on a shopping spree? Is everything okay? You never shop." Jongin quickly gets up and runs down the hill to help her carry everything.

"It's okay. I got this." Hyesun beams as she looks at Jongin.

"O-okay." Jongin stutters and follows Hyesun back up the hill, mentally cursing his heart for fluttering from Hyesun's bright smile.

Once they reach the tree, Hyesun carefully sets everything down and motions for Jongin to sit with her. Jongin quietly watches as Hyesun situates everything that she bought.

"Do you need me to help you choose something for Sae-ron?" Jongin quietly asks as he looks at the pile of gifts and flowers, his once fluttering heart falling like a wilted flower.

"No." Hyesun quickly shoves the bouquet of wildflowers against Jongin's chest. "I've never been this nervous before," Hyesun mutters to herself as she takes a deep breath, trying her best to calm her pounding heart.

Jongin's heart beats out of his chest as he holds the giant bouquet of flowers. He feels hope dangerously welling up in his heart. It is dangerous and nauseating. Hyesun knows that he has always loved wildflowers. To him, they are more beautiful than any rose or peony. To him, Hyesun is just like a wildflower.

"Jongie, I am sorry. It has taken me too long, hasn't it?" Hyesun softly smiles as she looks at the alpha in front of her.

"Wh-what has?" Jongin quietly asks as he grips the bouquet in his hands, his heart threatening to lurch out of his chest.

"It has taken me too long to realize just how much I am hurting the person I love, the alpha I love." Hyesun tentatively reaches out to gently brush Jongin's bangs out of his eyes.

"A-alpha y-you lo-ove?" Jongin stutters as his heart threatens to leap out of his chest, and tears threaten to stream down his face. His breath is short and shallow as he fights his tears.

"Jongie, I am so sorry. I love you." Hyesun smiles with teary eyes as she looks into Jongin's big, shining eyes.

Jongin stills as he processes Hyesun's soft, emotion-filled words. He gulps and searches Hyesun's eyes for any tiny chance she is pranking him because his heart would break if she was.
