Zak
After Dani returned from visiting Alex's mother, she joined the crew which helped out tremendously since a female was what the crew needed, I noticed that she didn't act like she had before and I was happy about it. I didn't know what was said but I could tell she got the closure she needed, we went out to dinner to celebrate Dani joining the crew, I noticed that her and Dakota decided to share a room as I was heading to mine. I didn't know how things would work out for them and I hoped she would finally move on with her life, I had agreed to let Oliver stay with me so she could get some rest.
I quickly tucked him into bed and waited for him to go to sleep, I grabbed the room key and walked to the room Dani was in and seen her sitting on the bed and didn't see Dakota anywhere in the room. I knocked on the door before walking in and seen her stand up before she pulled the door open.
Dani: hey, is everything okay?
Zak: yeah I just wanted to check on you before I went to bed.
Dani: I'm fine...
Zak: did Dakota decide to get another room?
Dani: no he went out to get a coffee, he should be back soon.
Zak: I hope you two become friends soon.
Dani: I appreciate what you're trying to do but I want to be the one who decides whether or not I want to date again...
Zak: I know, I just hate seeing you sad about what happened.
Dani: if I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have agreed to us go out and celebrate the news of my pregnancy that day.
Zak: what happened that day wasn't your fault Dani, he wouldn't want you blaming yourself for how he died.
Dani: and yet I do blame myself, he would still be alive if I hadn't have picked that restaurant. I have to live with that decision everyday Zak while you and the others pretend that he never existed.
Zak: we all miss him Dani, I remember when he told me that he was going to ask you to marry him, I couldn't help but feel beyond happy for him. I would give anything to have him here again.
Dani: I wish I could have done something to save him but I watched him die in front of me.
Zak: I never knew that until now, is that why you are having a hard time letting him go?
I watched her nod her head yes and heard her sobbing.
Dani: I miss him so much...
Zak: I know you do...
I held her close while she cried on my shirt, I never knew how she was feeling until now and it hurt me seeing her this way.
