Dani
Today was the first day of the custody battle with Dakota and I went in with my head held high. I seen Chelsea sitting behind her brother and couldn't help but notice how Dakota kept staring at me like he needed to say something to me. I didn't pay him any attention while the judge said that he would have someone come to my house once a week to make sure my home was a suitable place for a kid to be living in until the next court date which would be a month from today.
I left the courtroom after we were finished and was almost outside the building when I heard Chelsea calling my name.
Chelsea: Dani wait...
Dani: what is it Chelsea?
Chelsea: he wanted me to tell you that he wants us meeting for dinner tonight.
Dani: us being who exactly?
Chelsea: you, me, him and Zak.
Dani: I don't know if Zak will agree to go but I will ask him. I don't want any funny business either...
Chelsea: I will let him know not to do anything stupid. He wants to meet at the restaurant where you and him first met at seven tonight.
Dani: okay...
I spoke with Zak and he agreed to come with me after our mom agreed to watch Oliver and KC for a few hours. I didn't know what Dakota had up his sleeve but it wasn't going to work since Zak and Chelsea would be eating dinner with us. We arrived at the restaurant around the time he wanted to us there. We sat down at the table and I seen Dakota looking at me like he wanted something when I felt him gently rub my with his foot.
I knew Zak and Chelsea sensed how uncomfortable I was while Dakota flirted with me.
Chelsea: thank you both for coming.
Zak: what's this about Dakota?
I looked over at him and kicked him in the leg which made him stop what he was doing as he answered Zak's question
Dakota: I just wanted us to have a nice dinner together, is that wrong?
Zak: you're up to something and I don't like it.
Chelsea: no funny business Dakota, you made a promise.
I felt him stop what he was doing and we talked about what he wanted following the months ahead and Zak hated idea of the plan even though it wasn't up to him.
Dakota: what do you think Dani?
Dani: I'm not doing that, can we talk alone Dakota?
