It's been a year since I said my goodbyes to Alex and I felt myself slowly becoming happy again and I began hanging out with Dakota more and more everyday. I was sitting beside Zak while Oliver was spending time with Dakota when I heard him say something that I never thought he would call someone else which didn't surprise me
Oliver: can we play a game dad?
Dakota: what did you just say?
Oliver: I asked if I could play a game with you dad
Dakota: Oliver I'm not...
I noticed that he looked at me after he stopped talking andI was about to say something when I heard Zak speak up.
Zak: Oliver, it's getting late. No games tonight.
He left the spot where he was sitting and sat next to me, Dakota finished what he was doing before getting up and walking to his hotel room. We had been downstairs eating breakfast while discussing the next location when Oliver had unexpectedly called him dad, I felt Zak nudge my arm and I knew what he wanted me to do which I did. After I got to his room, I softly knocked on the door and waited for him to open the door.
Dani: hey, can I come in?
Dakota: sure...
I walked into the room after he moved out of the way so I could enter the room...
Dani: I apologize for what Oliver said to you...
Dakota: it's okay, he doesn't know any better.
I sat down on the bed and he did the same thing.
Dakota: do you want to go somewhere so the others won't interrupt anything?
Dani: sure...
We headed the other way out so we wouldn't be seen leaving, I felt like a teenager sneaking out after being grounded just to hang out with friends. We were told of a carnival not to far from here and hung out there.
Several hours passed since we got here and we decided to walk to a more quiet area as we got to know each other more.
Dakota: so is Zak the only sibling you have?
Dani: I have a half sibling on my dad's side but we don't talk cause my dad's new wife doesn't want him having a relationship with me. How about you?
Dakota: I have a sister named Chelsea, I think you and her will be good friends if you ever meet her.
Dani: and maybe I will one day.
We headed back to the hotel and I headed to my room so I could get a shower before bed, I did something that I haven't done in years and seen a smile on my face.
