It's been a week since I got all my belongings along with the kid's things out of Dakota's house after I found a new place to live, he made Devin leave as well after he had him fired from the crew and gave Alex his old job back.
The new place was big enough for Devin, the kids and myself so I didn't have to worry about where they would sleep. I had the crib put in my room along with a kid's bed for Oliver that way Devin could have his privacy.
I had been cooking breakfast when I heard the doorbell ringing and I immediately walked to the door and seen a police officer standing there with papers in his hand.
Dani: may I help you officer?
Officer: are you Dani Bagans-Laden?
Dani: yes I'm Dani Bagans...
Officer: these are for you, I just need you to sign here stating that you got the paperwork.
I signed where he wanted me to and handed me the papers.
Officer: have a good day ma'am.
Dani: you too.
I closed the door after he got back in the cop car and drove away, I looked at the papers and noticed it was divorce papers. I read through them carefully and signed each one before I headed to the court house and left the with the person I spoke with, I wasn't sure if Dakota was still going to try getting custody of KC but I was prepared to fight for her, I had the support of Zak and our mom along with Devin.
I planned on meeting Dakota for dinner so he could spend time with our daughter and I dropped Oliver off at Zak's house and told him that I would be back later to get him and I headed to the restaurant where he wanted to meet up at.
Dakota: I'm glad you brought KC.
Dani: you think you're real slick don't you? I got the divorce papers today.
Dakota: I hope you took the time to sign them.
Dani: of course I did, after I read through it and made a copy for myself
Dakota: I hope you enjoy spending time with our daughter like this because I will enjoy taking her home while you are pleading to have her back.
Dani: believe me when I tell you this, she's not going anywhere and her place will always be with me.
I headed back home after I finished eating and picking up Oliver, I seen Devin standing in the kitchen while he cooked something to eat. I put Oliver and KC to bed and seen how he was doing.
Dani: how was your day?
Devin: it was okay, I wish I could find a job though.
Dani: have you talked to Zak? Maybe you can start working at the museum.
Devin: I don't want to bother him with my problems, he seems busy as it and I don't want to stress him more than he already is. I will try looking for a job tomorrow.
Dani: okay, I hope you find one, good night...
