150: what was life before everything else?

It was after senior year of high school
back when it was all fun.
The end of my era of being cool
as my life has yet to begun.

Eight of us with burning passion
to visit places every month,
where we swore to find short-term satisfaction
for the long-run.

Could not have happened at a better time,
as it was now or never.
My self-esteem was threading as the nights
became almost forever.

Took the long way to the beach
with whatever fit in our backpacks,
the public restrooms became our private change room for each
while our drunk friend would find a way to clap back.

I needed an excuse to take the night cap,
got so drunk I almost dropped my wallet,
so I called my bro and told him that
pizza and beer were my only sources of carbohydrates.

Hit the speed dial I'll be at your spot by two,
our best moments stayed engraved in pictures.
By eleven I'll drive you back too,
feels like another lifetime this life I once had envisioned.
