The rumors are true,
be careful what you wish for,
they mean it through and through,
you never know what life brings you in store.

Didn't know what I had;
staring at the ceiling wishing to live out my wildest dreams,
until the good has turned bad;
to contribute and be of servitude in between.

Good kid with a playful attitude,
devoured by the sour grown ups.
All grown now in solitude,
hoping for the downs to become ups.

Looking out the window at a starry night,
remembering those evenings in college,
hoping for one day to find a new tribe,
instead it finds me with a melancholic.

Guess that is something I have always wanted,
with each song that became such an earworm.
Songs with authentic meaning I have bonded,
Lo-fi on the background a total bookworm.

We all have to do something eventually,
that is the way life goes.
But does anybody really want to leave?
Who knows?
