the two roommates were now sitting at the table, with minho enjoying his cup noodles while jisung insisted that he was full and would only prepare minho's portion.
"say, do you want to go grocery shopping with me?" minho asked as he slurped his noodles. despite eating them for the past few days, he still enjoyed them. however, he knew he couldn't survive on cup noodles alone and needed to go grocery shopping.
jisung hummed for a few seconds, seemingly contemplating minho's invitation. "when?" he asked.
"it's already late, so maybe tomorrow? do you have any free time by then?" minho asked, keeping his eyes on jisung.
jisung gave a little nod, replying, "i'll see to it, hyung."
minho continued enjoying his portion of cup noodles, as they had work to get back to after eating. after he finished the noodles and placed the cup down on the table, he looked at jisung. "are you sure you're not hungry?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. he didn't want his roommate to be skipping meals.
jisung nodded his head, leaning his hand on the table, with his head resting on it, and he locked his gaze on minho. "mhm, i ate outside before i came back here," he replied, a smile forming on his lips at minho's thoughtfulness.
"okay then..." minho replied, about to grab the empty cup and chopsticks to throw them away, but jisung beat him to it.
"yah! those are my trash, sung," minho exclaimed, his face betraying a look of mock betrayal as he saw his roommate take his trash and throw it away with a grin on his face.
"i'm bored, okay? and it's rare for us law students to be bored," jisung quipped, prompting minho to roll his eyes playfully at his roommate.
"then i won't be surprised anymore if i see you cleaning the whole dorm just because you're bored," minho retorted with a sly smirk on his face, matching jisung's playful energy.
"i'll do that if you want me to," was jisung's response.
minho was taken aback by the younger's response. what he had said was just a joke, but the tone of jisung's reply made it sound like he was serious.
"i was just joking, ji," minho clarified, not wanting jisung to clean the whole dorm just because of his playful remark.
"i know that, hyung. shall we go back to work?" jisung suggested. with minho's nod, they both returned to the living room to finish their work.
-----
it was already midnight when the two of them finished assembling everything. currently, they were lounged on the couch, resting from all the work they had done.
"it's been so long since i busied myself with something like this," jisung said with a giggle, making minho look at him with a smile of adoration.
"better than studying, right?" minho joked, scooting closer to where jisung sat.
"a hundred percent," the younger replied, shifting his gaze to minho, who he noticed was moving closer to him.
"you could just sit next to me if you wanted to, hyung. no need to be sneaky," jisung teased, prompting minho to turn red.
'fuck, how embarrassing can you get, minho?' he scolded himself internally.
minho tried to think of an excuse. he couldn't just tell jisung that he was already attached to him, right? despite it being their first formal meeting, minho had already taken a liking to jisung as they got along very well. for some reason, minho felt like he needed to keep a close eye on jisung, his earlier discoveries making him think that jisung might have some problems and that the latter needed someone by his side.
after a few moments of spacing out and internal battles, minho finally found his voice, "it just feels a little cold around here, and i thought it might be warmer on your side," he reasoned, berating himself for the nonsense he was spouting.
jisung raised his eyebrows at minho, with the intention of teasing the older. the whole time minho had been spacing out, jisung had been gazing at him, patiently waiting for any type of response. now that he got a response, jisung couldn't help but tease minho.
sensing that jisung was teasing him, minho moved next to jisung for another reason, to playfully slap the younger's arm. "stop teasing meeee," minho whined.
jisung let out a chuckle, trying to shield himself from minho's playful attack. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'll stop," he said through laughs.
minho huffed and crossed his arms over his chest with a pout. "not forgiven," he grumbled.
"what should i do to make you forgive me then, hyung?" jisung asked from his side.
minho didn't respond, his eyes roaming around the room, avoiding looking at jisung. busy with his pretend sulking, minho didn't notice the movements from his side. he only noticed jisung's presence disappearing beside him, making him look around the room for his roommate. "jisung?" he called out.
at that, jisung emerged from his room, holding a blanket in his hand. he then returned to his place on the couch, which was beside minho, and draped the blanket over the older.
"you said you were cold, so i got you a blanket," jisung said, offering minho a warm smile that immediately made the air around them feel warmer.
minho's cheeks turned a light shade of pink as he tried to shift his gaze somewhere other than his roommate. "thanks," he mumbled.
jisung nodded in response, watching how minho had unconsciously cuddled the blanket to his body. a small smile graced jisung's lips as he observed the older, looking like a human burrito beside him.
just then, jisung stood up from the couch, looking down at minho, and said, "it's late, hyung. let's go to sleep."
minho shifted his focus to jisung, realizing that it was indeed already midnight. he also stood up from his place and was about to unwrap the blanket from himself to return it to jisung, but the younger gently grabbed his wrist, preventing him from doing so.
"you can keep it. good night, hyung," jisung said, giving minho his usual heart-shaped smile before heading to his own room.
minho stood there in a daze, unable to believe how quickly his relationship with his roommate had escalated. at the same time, he couldn't stop the somersaults happening within him.
"good night... jisung," he mumbled, his eyes gazing at his roommate's door, which was already closed. he then made his way back to his own room, the blanket still securely wrapped around him as he settled in for the night.
