"you promised."
jisung's words replayed in minho's mind like a broken record, transporting him back to the moments when he promised jisung he would never leave his side. as he drifted into his thoughts, minho's eyes grew distant, a clear sign that he was lost in his reverie. meanwhile, jisung gazed at the boy on the floor with what seemed like love.
however, beneath jisung's loving stare, there lurked something sinister—a gaze that seemed to compel minho to leap from the rooftop.
"minho," jisung said, breaking minho out of his trance.
"don't tell me you're also going to break this promise...?" jisung added, his voice carrying a melancholy tone, tinged with disappointment. in that moment, minho turned his head towards jisung for the first time. his eyes widened as he finally took in jisung's altered appearance.
furrowing his eyebrows, a mix of emotions overwhelmed minho. he couldn't quite pinpoint what he felt in that very moment, but witnessing that side of jisung, with all the truth laid bare, stirred something within him.
he couldn't help but sympathize.
he even found himself considering being with jisung in the afterlife.
he couldn't help it at all.
a deafening silence lingered between them, the distant sound of thunder the only recurring noise in the scene. realizing that minho was lost for words, only staring at jisung with big, doe-like, and confused eyes, jisung grew impatient.
with a click of his tongue and his jaw clenching, jisung released an audible scoff. "are you gonna do it or not? do you prefer I kill you myself?" he snapped, his voice slightly raising, causing minho to flinch.
at that very moment, everything finally sank in for minho. he understood his situation, and fear started to settle in. soon enough, the turmoil inside his head, the fear, and the knowledge about jisung's true nature manifested into tears.
"j-jisung... i-i can't do it," were the words he managed to form after a long while of silence. his voice was shaky and slightly incoherent as tears continued to stream from his eyes.
"i-i love you, jisung. i know i do! b-but i don't want to kill myself... i'm scared, and i-i have so much to live for!" he added, his voice slightly raising despite the trembling.
at minho's response, the light in jisung's eyes once again dimmed, plunging into a darkness that left no glimmer behind, only emptiness.
footsteps echoed as jisung slowly advanced towards minho, his gaze unwavering on the distressed figure still on the floor. in response, minho crawled backward, his chest heaving with apprehension about what jisung might do next. tears continued to stream down his face as he stared at the person he had once fallen for.
the person before him now bore an empty gaze, radiating a malicious aura. openings in his body exposed bones, and in his hand, he held a gun pulled from his back pocket.
at first, minho hadn't noticed what jisung was reaching for, but when he did, his breath hitched, and his eyes widened. he knew what jisung intended to do with the gun.
"j-jisung..." minho gasped, freezing in place.
"i gave you a choice, minho. to either kill yourself or let me do it. you chose the latter," jisung monotonously replied, reaching for his head.
minho watched jisung's actions closely, his heart galloping in his chest. he saw jisung dip his finger into his head, piercing the skin.
minho winced at the scene, watching blood drip from where jisung was inserting his finger. however, it didn't seem to bother the latter at all. after a while, jisung pulled out his finger from his head, and between his fingertips was a glistening metal covered in blood.
