the next morning arrived, and minho began to stir from his slumber. slowly, he fluttered his eyes open, shivering as the cold air still lingered inside the room. as he awoke, a whine escaped his lips as the realization hit him that everything that occurred within his dreams was not real.
in minho's dreams, jisung once again took center stage. the younger hovered above minho, murmuring incoherent words. however, the scene etched in minho's memory was the closeness of jisung's face, their lips initially brushing against each other, and the part that tugged at minho's heart – jisung pressing his lips softly against his.
disappointment washed over minho as he awoke from that dream, a stark reminder that it was something that didn't happen; jisung didn't kiss him.
fully awake, minho turned to his side, and as soon as he did, his eyes widened, and his heart began picking up its pace.
beside him, jisung leaned on the side of the couch, facing forward and humming soft melodies, his head rhythmically moving along with the tunes.
"la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la-la, i'm missing you," jisung softly hummed, the words not precisely pronounced but discernible in his hums.
minho slowly raised from his position on the couch, his eyes darting at jisung, who seemed oblivious to his movements.
that was until...
"good morning, pretty," jisung greeted, turning his head to face minho and offering him a warm smile.
minho was left utterly dumbfounded. first of all, he hadn't expected to see jisung early this morning, still thinking that the younger was avoiding him. second of all, jisung was sitting beside the couch, prompting minho to wonder if his dreams might not be a dream after all.
"you seemed like you saw a ghost," jisung added with a low chuckle, noticing minho's wide-opened eyes, furrowed brows, and slightly parted lips, cutely revealing his bunny teeth.
driven by a mix of emotions, minho abruptly threw himself at jisung, the latter successfully catching him despite both of them stumbling to the floor.
minho, now sitting on jisung's lap, began lightly hitting the younger's chest with his small fist, his eyes beginning to release tears as he couldn't handle the overwhelming mix of emotions within him.
"where were you yesterday?! i've tried knocking on your door multiple times, but there was no response! i hate you... i hate you for making me worry!" he said between hits, his lips quivering.
as minho's energy began to drain because of his breakdown, he collapsed against jisung's chest, the younger effectively securing minho on top of his lap so he wouldn't fall.
jisung then sat both of them on the floor, his arms wrapping securely around minho's waist as he let the older cry on his chest, muttering the words 'i hate you' over and over again.
he then placed his head atop minho's shoulder, whispering, "i'm sorry, baby. i really am. i didn't mean to avoid you, okay? i was just grappling with some thoughts," he comforted, one of his arms moving on minho's back to soothe him in an up-and-down motion.
minho sniffed, rubbing his face against jisung's cloth to wipe his tears away, softly mumbling, "what thoughts?... do you not like me anymore?" as those words escaped his lips, he felt another impending storm of tears escape his eyes, his body trembling as he let out his emotions.
jisung's expression momentarily contorted to confusion before shifting to one of concern. "no, baby, of course not. it's nothing important now. don't worry about it, okay?" he responded, slowly lifting minho up from his chest to look at him in his teary eyes.
