as minho's last class came to an end, he dragged himself back to his dorm, feeling incredibly exhausted from the day's activities.
standing in front of his door, minho tiredly fished out the keycard from his pocket. he scanned the keycard and swung the door open. the room greeted him with the usual cold air, making him shiver.
he wrapped his arms around himself in a poor attempt to warm up and then headed to the living room to adjust the temperature inside the room.
"who keeps turning the ac up so high?" he mumbled to himself as he lowered the temperature with the remote.
afterward, he plopped down on the couch. due to his exhaustion, he hadn't initially noticed the darkness in the room. the sun had already been replaced by the moon, and there was no light turned on.
"so he's not back yet," minho muttered as he sensed the emptiness in the room. he also took a quick glance at his roommate's door, confirming that he was not there.
he took a deep sigh before mustering the energy to get back on his feet, intending to take a shower before he started arranging his stuff again.
-----
as minho absentmindedly washed himself inside the bathroom, he heard a door opening from the outside, signaling that his roommate had returned. minho unconsciously smiled to himself, determined to finally meet his roommate today.
after his shower, he dressed himself in black velvet pajamas before heading to his roommate's room. he stood outside the door, his hand formed into a fist, ready to knock.
"you can do this, don't be a pussy," minho whispered to himself. he took one last deep breath, preparing to knock.
"is there anything you need?"
minho found himself jumping at the sudden voice behind him, his hand flying to his chest as he tried to calm his racing heart.
"holy shit," he mumbled to himself, eyes closed as he leaned against the door, trying to steady himself.
the voice then let out a chuckle, and minho opened his eyes, looking up to see who the voice belonged to.
when he did, he felt his heart skip a beat. he continued to gaze at the boy, lost in admiration as he tried to figure out who he was.
the boy, who noticed minho staring at him with wide, curious eyes, decided to introduce himself. "i'm your roommate," he said with a small smile.
at that moment, minho had finally realized that the boy could only be his roommate. minho mirrored the smile the boy gave him, saying, "ah, yes, i've been wanting to meet you, actually," he said with a nervous chuckle.
he never would have expected that his roommate was this charming. minho was only slightly taller than the boy, with pretty, shining doe eyes, chubby cheeks adorned with a mole, brown curly hair, and he was wearing semi-formal attire with glasses perched on his face.
once again, the boy caught minho staring at him, seemingly losing himself in a daze. so he cleared his throat and said, "i'm sorry if i wasn't able to properly introduce myself to you in the past few days. i was incredibly busy with my studies and couldn't afford to distract myself," his roommate said with an apologetic smile.
at that, minho returned to his senses, his cheeks warming up at the thought that he was staring at his roommate. "no, it's okay, i totally understand," minho responded, waving his hands in disagreement as he internally scolded himself for staring too long at the boy.
the boy let out a low chuckle in return, his voice echoing in minho's head like a broken record, "do you need help with anything? i noticed that you haven't finished arranging your furniture, and it just so happens that i'm not as busy today, so i can lend a hand," the boy offered.
minho unconsciously let a smile creep onto his face at the thought of someone helping him, let alone his attractive roommate.
minho nodded his head, probably a bit too enthusiastically for his liking, not wanting to show how excited he was to have his attractive roommate help him arrange.
"alright then..." the boy trailed off, raising his eyebrows slightly to indicate he still didn't know minho's name.
"minho, lee minho," minho responded.
"okay, minho, hyung?" the boy said, uncertainty lacing his voice as a small smile remained on his lips.
minho chuckled in response, "i probably am," he said.
his roommate slowly nodded, then asked, "what year are you in?"
"a supposed third-year biology student. how about you?" minho responded lightheartedly, curious about his roommate's major, especially considering the earlier breakdown he had witnessed.
"i'm studying law," his roommate replied.
minho mentally cursed, thinking, 'can someone be more fucking perfect than him?' he now understood the reason behind his roommate's breakdown.
"shall we get started?" the boy asked, already making his way to the living room where minho's remaining furniture was.
minho followed the boy, explaining how he wanted the remaining furniture to be arranged.
-----
throughout the time they spent arranging the furniture, the two roommates conversed happily, sharing laughter at each other's remarks. minho's initial impression of his roommate was quickly forgotten, as if it had never existed.
initially, he had expected his roommate to be formal, given his serious and formal demeanor, especially with his law student status. however, minho soon discovered how wrong he was when he heard the witty and humorous remarks coming from the boy.
one thing minho particularly liked about his roommate was his voice. to minho, his roommate's voice was melodic, and he found himself addicted to it, especially the way he laughed. it was a voice that felt like a divine gift, and now minho couldn't help but imagine how he might sing with that heavenly voice.
"are you hungry?" the boy asked, turning to minho.
minho was momentarily taken aback, unable to ignore his roommate's attractive appearance with his sleeves rolled up, revealing his veiny arms adorned with silver bracelets, and his curly hair falling over his eyes.
"hyung?" the boy repeated.
"u-uh, yeah, i could use some food right now," minho stammered.
"okay, i'll go heat us up some noodles. wait here," the boy responded with a warm smile, heading toward the kitchen.
however, before he could take another step, minho interrupted him, "wait!" he exclaimed.
"i-i just want to thank you for yesterday. you know, making me food and covering me with a blanket..." minho said in a slightly small voice, feeling himself heat up for some reason.
the boy smiled at minho, finding it cute the way the older blushed. "no problem, hyung," he responded, continuing his steps to the kitchen.
but minho wasn't quite done yet. "by the way, you didn't give me your name yet?" he added.
minho noticed how the boy visibly flinched when asked about this, but he thought maybe he was just caught off guard, so he decided not to make a big deal out of it.
the boy turned, not fully facing minho, "han jisung," was his response.
"nice to meet you, han jisung," minho said with a smile.
han jisung, whose name was now known to minho, returned the smile. however, minho couldn't help but notice something odd about the smile he gave him. "nice to meet you too, minho hyung," he responded before disappearing into the kitchen.
