Siya

It has been almost 2 months since the wedding and now apparently in those 2 months I have grown so much that my parents feel like I will die alone and will not able to find any partner in the near future. That shit hurt but we ballin'.

"Areyy mummy mane nathi karva lagan hamna." I said for the 100th time.

(Mom I don't wanna marry right now.)

"Ketla saara saara chokra maila che taara maate taari life set thai jase ane hu khushi khushi Mari jaise." She replied. Ahh the classic emotional blackmail.

(I've found so many matches for you. Your life will be set and I'll die happily.)

I looked at my dad and exclaimed,
"Papa aap toh kuch bolo!"

"Mummy thik bol rahi hai ab toh teri umar bhi ho gayi hai shaadi karne ki." He said. "Dekh hum tuje force nahi kar rahe shaadi karne keliye par ek baar mil toh le ladke se kya pata tuje pasand aa jaaye." He continued in a soft tone.

I looked at them and thought about it for a second. I could see their desperation for me wanting to get married but I don't know if I'm ready. And obviously they won't ever force me into things like this. Things that could make or break my life. They've done so much for me. I can't even begin to explain how much theyve contributed in my life and helped me get where I am right now. Maybe meeting him won't be that bad. I could always say no. Right?

I gulped and utterd out,"Fine I'm willing to meet him but promise me that you guys won't force me to say yes."

They both shook and head and replied with a never. I could see them trying to hide the big smile that was forcing its way into their face.

"Toh phir main jaa rahi hu kaam pe ab shaam ko milte hai. Bye." I said giving both of them a side hug.

As soon as I left I could practically hear them singing and celebrating.

Rishi

"Thank you doctor." They said as they were about to leave.

"Goodbye and take proper care of yourself and you little troublemaker take care of your mother,ok?" I said to Rehaan, child of the patient. She was a single parent and has become a victim of typhoid. But don't worry nothing Dr. Verma can't solve.

Just as they left from my office in the hospital I got a call from my mom. Lag gaye mere. She has called me atleast 4 times and I did not pick up. I took a deep breath and answered the phone.

"Main tuhanu kadom bula riha hain. Tusi gala ki'um nahi cuka rahe si? Ki tusi jaṇade ho ki main kina chinta mein thi? Jab tusi ghara aunde ho tab tuhada adara kujha samajha aundi hai. Tada hi tusi sidhe chaloge." She said, with giving me chance to say hello.

(I've been calling you since when. Why were you not picking up the call? Did you know how worried I was? when you come home i'll slap some sense into you. Then only you'll walk straight.)

"Ma hospital mein kaam tha isiliye nahi uthaya. Varna main apka call utha tha he hu na." I replied before she could say anything else.

"Chal jhoota. Khair yeh sab chod aaj ghar kitne baje aayega?" Her voice came from the other line.

I thought over it for a second,
" Shayad 9 ya 9:30 tak. Aaj koi appointment nahi hai meri but agar koi emergency hui toh jaana padega."

"Ha ha koi na par ghar jaldi aana kuch zaruri gal karni hai." She said and if I'm not wrong there was a tinge of excitement in her voice.

"Uhh thik hai. Chalo ab ghar aake baat karta hu. Love you, bye." I answered still a bit skeptical about what she had on her sleeve.

"Ha ha love you bye." And with that she hung up.

..............................

"KYA?!" I exclaimed in horror as soon as I heard the words 'Tum shaadi karoge' leave her mouth.

"Ji ha, maine ek badi pyari si ladki chun li hai tere liye aur tere paas aur koi option nahi hai." She said with the sweetest smile on her face. Ohh how evil she is.

" Par mummy aap he socho main toh aadha din ghar pe hota hu nahi bichari meri biwi kya karegi mere bina. Isiliye bol raha hu wakt aane pe kar lunga shaadi. Aapke beta ko ladki dhunde ne mein koi pareshani nahi hogi. Shah Rukh Khan se kum thodi dikhta hu." I replied while running my hand through my hair.

This response received a slap on my head," Chup kar nalayak. Apni maa ka toh soch. Din bhar muje akele he kaam karna padta hai koi ghar ke kaam mein haat bata de toh achha lagega. Aur muje marne se pehle mere pota-poti dekhne hai. Shaadi ki zimmedari tere sir pe chodi toh kya pata kab he hogi shaadi."

"Itni kya jaldi hai ma,jab wakt aayega tab dhund lunga ladki." I retorted.

"Tere se pehle titu ki shaadi honi hai agar aisa he chal ta raha toh." Of course she had to bring my younger brother Tirth into this.

"Woh muje 10 saal chota hai. Ab toh aap fake he rahe ho." This time I received a pillow in my face.

"Jooti khaye bina tu sudhre ga nahi lagta hai." She said while taking her jootis off.

"Areyy mazak kar raha hu yaar." I answered, chuckling nervously.

"Dekh beta, tere bhale keliye keh rahe hai hum log. Chinta hoti hai teri. Dhang se khata-peeta hai nahi, naahi chain ki neend leta hai. Hum bhi humari dawaiyoon ke piche pagal ho jaate hai. Utni takat hum mein bhi nahi ki tera dhyaan rakhe. Agar teri biwi ho toh tera khayal rakhegi. Toh maan jaana. Biji bhi teri shaadi hote hua dekhna chahti hai."

Bhavuk hogayi meri maa. Areyy yaar ab mana bhi nahi kar sakta sabse bada chutiya lagunga.

I took a deep breath and replied,
" Thik hai ek baar mil leta hu."

She engulfed me in the most motherly hug and I couldn't help but smile at her happiness.

"Sab chila kyu rahe ho?"
"Kya hua?"
"Raat ko kya chor macha rahe ho?"
"Kabhi toh aaram se khelne do?"

Tirth, my dad, biji and dadu came into the living room on hearing my mother's outburst.

"Rishi maan gaya shaadi keliye." She said, jumping up and down with excitement.

And hell broke loose.

Everyone jumped onto me legit. These are some scary ass people I'm telling you. Oh well.

With this "good news" we all went to sleep. And the only thing in my mind was marrying wasn't that bad of a thing, right?

A/n: sorry for not updating for a while I was a Lil vacation but I'm back now. I'll try to be more productive with writing since the actual plot has started. Enjoy. Bye
