[Nancy's POV]
The next day, I try to go get the cold case file from the police station but I am stopped before I can. However, I learn that Ryan Hudson has been granted the opportunity to move Tiffany's body. I decide Lucy has to wait and I need to focus on figuring out who killed Tiffany. The only problem with that is the killer might be closer than I'd like to admit. I'm at The Claw on shift helping customers but my mind keeps drifting to the case.
Ace puts up the slacker front, but he's smarter than he seems even if he's got a thing for unattainable women. Bess says she lives in a mansion with her rich aunt, but if that's true why is she working here? George plays the tough girl but she's a pro at keeping secrets. Big secrets like the identity of the older man she was caught hooking up with junior year. Skylar is the new girl in town. She's charming, caring, protective but is it all just a facade? But none of them have a motive. The only one who does is the one I desperately wish didn't: the guy Tiffany put in jail three years ago with her eye witness testimony who I also happen to be sleeping with.
I close my locker and turn to see Nick, "Oh gosh" I say startled
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" He says
"Nick, hi" I say
"I was just wondering if you'd be my date to the Seawater Ceremony. That is if they haven't canceled it cause of everything that's happened" He says
"No, no, highly implausible. Ghostly superstitions are a big part of our trust trade" I say
"Well in that case, what do you think?" He asks
I hesitate, "I'll meet you at the beach tonight" I say
"Great" He says, kissing me then I walk away
[Skylar's POV]
I'm at work helping customers when I see Nancy, I try to talk to her but she's avoiding me. I let it go, maybe she's embarrassed from the other night. Once I am done helping the customers and they leave before I head back into the kitchen where Bess, Nancy and Ace are.
"Well, Tiffany Hudson isn't the only dead thing around here" George says walking up
Bess shakes her head, "Too soon" She says
"Well what are you waiting for? Post something on yelp" George says
"What do you want us to say?" Nancy asks
"Yeah, we promise none of our waitstaff murdered anyone" I say sarcastically
"We all know who killed her, Dead Lucy. We have it on video, what did the police say when you showed them?" Bess asks
"I didn't show them" Nancy says
"But..." Bess says
"All they would do is take my phone and log it as evidence" Nancy says
"Well won't we know more soon? Aren't they going to do an autopsy?" Bess asks
"I overheard that the Hudson family got a judge to block it. They're moving the body tonight and that's exactly what you would do if you were trying to cover up a murder" Nancy says
"Ryan Hudson wouldn't murder his wife" George says
"Why are they trying to hide behind a special autopsy?" Ace asks
"So you can doctor the results. Hide the truth, I'm willing to bet that if they have a judge in their pocket, the coroner is too. Although if we had someone say a forensic chemist who owed you for solving a perfume related mystery for him in the ninth grade, he could perform the same kind of toxicology tests for you" Nancy says
