We head back to her house, as she is doing more researched, I am making us some sandwiches when there is the sound of glass breaking, "What was that?" I ask
"I don't know" She says
She opens the door and of course it's Owen, "Great" I whisper
"Uh what is this thing?" He asks walking in
"It is a ghost trap" She says
"Okay then you hungry?" He asks
"Actually..." She says
I walk from the kitchen, "Here you go, Nancy" I say holding a plate with her sandwich
She just looks at both of us, "Um...uh" She says then her phone buzzes
"It's from the killer" She looks at Owen, "Rain check" She says
"Bye Owen" I say shutting the door in his face smirking
"I need the obituaries from Ace but they aren't here" She says

We walk in, "Ace you said you put the obituaries in my bag but they are...right here" She says
We see the obits on the table with Ace standing with Bess and George, "Great now we can get started. Did you find the names of the other victims?" He asks
"I don't need your help" She says
"I've tried guys, I was only allowed to be on lunch duty" I say
"Did the killer contact you? What did the cipher say? Are they coming after you?" He asks
"No, the next victim is a woman named Claire. The killer sent me this message so I have to stop them or else I'm the reason that another person gets killed. They said not to call the cops" Nancy says
"They only gave you three hours to save this Claire, you do needs us" George says
"No, every time you guys get involved in a case, one of you gets hurt and I'm not doing that anymore" Nancy says
"We don't have time for this. In order to find Claire we need to figure out how the other victims are related. Do you have their names from the ciphers in the emails?" Ace asks
She looks at him then at me, "Let us help, Nancy" I say
She sighs, "Bridget and Pam" She says
They start looking, "You don't have to do this" Nancy says
"Shut up, Drew. We want to help" George says
"All right we got Pam Barnaby" George says
"I got Bridget Wishbow" Bess says
"And Liza Ainslie" Ace says
We place the obituaries together, "What do these three women have in common?" Nancy asks
"Says here Pam was a proud alum of Hawthorne High School" I say
"Wait, Hawthorne High" Nancy says
"Out in the boonies, closed down in like 2004" Ace says
"Hey Bridget Wishbow, she was the assistant to the vice principal at Hawthorne High School from 2002 to 2004" Bess says
"Okay, what about Liza? Does she have a connection?" Nancy asks
Bess checks, "Hmm she was the marching band director" Bess says
"Bridget and Pam were both found dead in their homes" George says
Then Nancy starts to walk out, "Where are you going?" Ace asks
I follow her out, "Where are you going?" I ask
"There are only three Claire's that worked at Hawthorne High but only Claire Barnett still lives here" She says
"Okay and what are you going to do?" I ask
"I'm going to have the cops do a wellness check" She says
"Let's go then" I say
She drives over to the house and we wait for the cops to check in, "Horseshoe five o, some kind of bust?" A couple asks
"We're just checking in on the lady that lives here" Nancy says
They walk away and the cops comes back, "There's no one in there, Nancy. Nothing out of the ordinary, you sure about this lead?" He asks
She sighs, "I'm not sure about anything anymore. I'm really sorry to have wasted your time" She says
He walks away, "Now what?" I ask
Her phone buzzes, "Claire Barnett?" She asks
I look over and there's a video of Claire tied up then it says, "I told you no cops. Now, you get a penalty" it reads
Then it shows a time clock, "Is that the Hawthorne High scoreboard?" I ask
"I know where Claire is" She says and starts driving
We get to Hawthorne High but before we get out, "This isn't a good idea" I say
"I can't be the reason she dies" She says
I nod my head and we head inside; we turn our flashlights on and start looking around. We see a door propped open, we walk towards it until we hear a noise. We turn and shine our flashlights to see George breaking through. "Hey, get that light out of my face" She says
"How did you find us?" Nancy asks
Then Ace walks through, "For someone who sneaks around, the bright blue car isn't exactly subtle" George says
"Hero of Horseshoe Bay" Ace says
Nick shows up, "Hero of Horseshoe Bay's friends" Ace says
I look at Nancy, "Let them help" I say
She looks at me and sighs, "Okay, come on" She says
We walk through the door the was propped open to see the old gym. Then the lights turn on and a horn sounds; we look up and see the scoreboard clicking down, "20 minutes to save Claire" Nancy says
We keep looking around when we walk down. Hallway and see drag marks and foot steps, "Someone was dragged here. Whoever took Claire is a woman, size seven shoes, maybe seven in a half" She says
We keep walking and stop at doors, "This is too easy" She says
She opens the door and we walk through, "Ace can you stay up here?" Nancy asks
"Yeah we need a lookout" Nick says
"And someone with cell service, we won't have any down there" I say
"I'm so glad I brought my crowbar" George says
"If we aren't back in 17 minutes...call the cops" Nancy says
"Stay alive" He says
