Chapter 10

Nancy starts walking down and I follow after her, I see her walk into a room but the door closes right after she walks in, "Nancy!" I yell running to the door

George and Nick come down, I pull at the door, "It's locked!" She yells

"George use the crowbar" I say

She tries, "Nancy, we got to get you out of there!" I yell

"Don't open the door!" She yells

"What?! Why?!" I ask concerned

"There's poison coming in through the vents, you'll be exposed to it. Just go!" She yells

"Screw that! I'm cracking the door" George says

"Nancy I'm not leaving you in there!" I yell

"No we have to find where the poison's coming from" Nick says shining his light

We see wires, "Come on" He says

"Nancy I will get you out of there" I say

"I know you will, Kai" She says

I run after them, we find a door and crack it open and see some sort of lab, "Is the killer living here?" George asks

"I don't know but if we can stop the flow of the gas, we'll buy Nancy some time" I say

"What is all this stuff?" Nick asks

"Keep looking" I say

I walk over and find a video tape labeled Pam then place it in the tv, and I see Claire, "She's the killer" I whisper

I run back to the door but it's still not open, "Come on!" I yell

"Nancy!" I keep pulling on the door but it won't open, "Damn it!" I yell

I punch the door and see I made a small dent, "Shit" I say

I keep punching the door, hoping it would open. I grunt as I look down and see blood dripping down my hand and onto the floor. I sigh, that'll definitely be sore later. Then the door opens, "Yes Ace" I whisper

I take. my shirt off before I put it around my mouth and run in, I see Nancy on the floor, "Nancy? Nancy?!" I ask

I don't care about my hand anymore as I pick her up when Nick and George run in, "You're going to be okay. You hear me Red, you're going to be okay" I whisper, "I got you, I got you"

I look at them, "Let's go" I tell them

George grabs her bag and I run her back to the lab and place her on the ground, "Come on, come on, I got you" I say

I take my shirt off my mouth, placing it on the side as I start doing CPR on her when she drops something, "Come on Nancy, come on!" I yell as tears fall

I don't care how much my hand hurts, I keep doing CPR when George comes over, "Skylar, it's the antidote. Look one of the pearls is missing from the setting because Claire took it" She says

"I think Nancy must have realized that" Nick says

"Get her up" George says

I grab her and hold her in my arms, "Here" She says handing me the pearl

I put it in Nancy's mouth, "Okay, here we go, it's okay" I say

"Come back" I whisper

Then she gasps for breath, her blue eyes met my hazel ones, "You're okay" I whisper

I pull her close to me, "You're okay, I got you" I whisper thankfully

"I knew you'd save me" She says weakly with a slight smile

I smile, "I couldn't let you leave that easily" I say

I place my shirt on quickly before I pick her up and we get the hell out of there. Claire is arrested before I place Nancy in the passenger side of her car, "I'll drive her home" I say

"We'll meet you there" Ace says

I nod my head and get in and start driving her home, "Don't crash the car" She says

I glance at her, "Hey I'm a great driver" I say feigning hurt

I look at her and see her smile when she looks down, "Your hand" She says

"It's fine" I say

"You're bleeding and its all bruised" She says

"Nancy I'm fine, let's worry about you" I say

She nods her head and we sit in silence, "Don't ever do that again" I say

"What?" She asks

"Tell me not to save you..." I glance at her, "...to leave you" I say

"Kai I was trying to protect you..." She says

"I know but I'd rather risk my life to save you than leave you to die" I say

I look at her, "Just let me take the risk too" I say

She nods her head and we pull up to her house. I help her inside and place her on the couch. The others arrive and Bess becomes mother hen, "Stop, stop fussing please, I'm fine" Nancy says

"Fine? You came back from the dead okay?" Bess asks

I finish wrapping my hand, "Why do you guys always show up? When I very explicitly ask you not to?" Nancy asks

She glances at me, "I mean somebody could have gotten seriously hurt" She says

"Because that's what friends do, we show up except for Bess" Ace says

"You know, I was dealing with a delicate family situation" Bess says

"Nancy, I might still be in a coma if it weren't for you" Ace says

"When I got possessed by Tiffany, you chose me over questioning a ghost about her own murder. You saved my life" George says

"And you let me live with you when I had nowhere else to go" Bess says

"You helped me find what Tiffany left for me. And you didn't turn me into the cops even when you had reason to" Nick says

"You've protected me more times than I can count even when you barley knew me. You've risked your own life for me and all of us. Why wouldn't we do the same for you?" I tell her

"But I've hurt you, I've hurt all of you and for what?" She asks

"Okay easy up on the guilt, Nancy. Okay? We've all hurt the people we love. But we all forgive the people we love, too" Bess says

"Right George?" Bess asks

"Eh do you think you brought Dead Lucy back?" George asks

"I don't know but she made her way back out of the dark depths of wherever Simon flung her. She found me though when I was dying. I don't know if I brought her back with me though" She says
"Drew looks tired, we should head out" George says

We get up, "Night Nancy" Bess says

They all walk out, "Good night Red" I say

"Red?" She asks

"My new nickname for you" I say

She smiles, "I like it" She says

I smile and go to walk out but she grabs my arm, "Wait, you risked your life to save mine, thank you" She says

"I'd do it again" I say

"Really?" She asks

"In a heartbeat" I say

She smiles, "How's your hand?" She asks examining it

"Doesn't even hurt" I say

She raises her eyebrow, "Okay maybe a little but I'm fine, Red, I swear" I say with a small smile

She smiles back, "Good night Blue" She says

I smile at the nickname, "Good night Red" I say
