At Dianna's Party
I walk into the party in my forest green bomber jacket, black shirt and black jeans. I start walking around trying to find some of the others. After awhile, I walk outside and find Nancy with Ace. I walk over, "But the ritual won't work without a blood relative" Ace says
"Yeah, I know" She says
"Nancy are you okay?" I ask
"Long story" She says
"Hey, you left this in my car" Ryan says holding up her locket
"Can you guys give us a sec?" Nancy asks
"I'll go get set up" Ace says
"Are you sure?" I ask
She nods her head, "Okay, I'll go help Ace" I say
Nancy's POV
"Is this you?" He asks
"Yeah, it used to belong..." I say and go to grab it
He pulls it back, "Yeah. Well this is a picture of of Lucy as a baby from her yearbook" He says holding up a picture
"Compare and contrast. You look like you could be twins. Nancy, why is that?" He asks
"I-I-I don't know. Babies look alike" I say stammering
"No, no, you're smarter than that. That sounds like something I would say. Why do you look like twins?" He asks
"Okay, let's take this somewhere else" I whisper
We start walking back to where the ritual will be, "And Lucy was smarter than me, too. She had this-this way that she looked when she was figuring things out, just like you" He says
"Doesn't prove anything" I say
"Yeah, well, what about the wasp stings? You told me you were allergic to wasps. You know I carry an EpiPen everywhere I go?" He asks
"Millions of people are allergic to wasps" I say
"Yeah and are they haunted by Lucy Sable? I mean, I get me, Nancy, but why you? Look this-this might sound crazy, but think about it. The photos, the wasp stings, the way you carry yourself. Lucy was pregnant 19 years ago. What if she had that baby?" He asks
"Can we just do the ritual please?" I ask
"I'm not going anywhere until you talk to me. Why was Lucy Sable haunting you?" He asks
I look at him, "Lucy wanted me to find out that she had her baby before she died. That the baby survived. I survived" I say
He looks at me then walks closer, "Why didn't you just tell me?" He asks
I just look at him then he nods his head, "Can I have my locket?" I ask and hold out my hand
He hands it back to me, "How did Carson and Kate...?" He asks
"Lucy asked them to protect me. She never said who the father was" I say
"So Lucy died thinking that I abandoned her. Is that-is that why you asked me to come do this ritual with you? Because what you needed a parent?" He asks
"Uh, just needed a blood relative" I say
"And that's why I know the truth? What if you hadn't needed me?" He asks
"I wish I didn't" I say and look down
"Finally. A straight answer" He says
