Nancy and I head back to the Claw, "Team meeting!" Nancy yells
We walk into George's office and fill them in, "I couldn't see Agnes's ghost. It was more like an imprint she left behind" Nancy says
"I could feel her but if we could find a way to communicate..." I start
"That's as far as you got? Harassing a ghost imprint about a necklace?" George asks
"I know it's a long shot, George, but..." Nancy starts
"While you take your long shot, I'm gonna be in reality with our customers" George says and walks out
"Okay..." I trail off
Nancy and I look at Nick, "Just give her some space" He says
We nod our heads, "What it this?" Nancy asks grabbing something
"Uh, in layman's terms, ghost vision goggles. They, uh, they register infrasound. Uh...sound waves at a frequency too low for humans to hear. Animals give off infrasound, weapons, too, and according to AJ's research, so do ghosts" He says
"So if I wear these, I could see Agnes?" Nancy asks
"I think so. It's just a matter of, uh, adjusting the settings and expanding the bandwidth limit" He says
"Since where are you a mad scientist?" She asks
"Hmm. Well, I always liked figuring out how things fit together. I used to take apart everything with a wire and a battery in my house. It drove my mom crazy" He says
"Hence the mechanic's job at J. Dodd's. And then building the locket holder in my car. I never knew that about you" She says
"Well, you never asked" He says
I just stand there awkwardly before I clear my throat, "Let me make these adjustments real quick. Hang tight" He says taking the goggles
Back at Cottage
Nancy, Nick, Bess, and I are standing in front of the cellar door, "Nick and I will keep a lookout for any lost or wandering tourists, okay?" Bess asks
"And I'll be just outside the door and..." I hand her the equipment, "...in your ear" I say
She gives me a nod, "Anything feels off you come up okay?" I ask
"I'll be fine" She says
"Just promise" I say
"Okay, I promise" She says
She walks towards the door, shutting it. I walk over and lean against the doorway, "Can you hear me? What do you see?" I ask
"I can hear you. It feels really good having you inside me...And by you, I mean your voice and by me, I mean my ear" She says rambling
I let out a soft chuckle, "I'm just gonna stop talking now" She says
I smile at her nervousness, "Red, how does it feel down there?" I ask
"Everything just feels very normal" She says
"Yeah, same here. I mean, unless my hypothesis is wrong, it—" Then the device I'm holding starts going off, "Nancy?" I ask
No response. I'm starting to get worried, "Red?" I ask again
Then a few moments later, the door bursts opens and she rushes out, "Skylar?" She asks
I run over to her, "Hey are you—?" I start to ask
"It was like—like an echo of Agnes's madness, it's like living in a nightmare" She says
She slams her hand on the table, I place mine over hers, calming her down, "And what about the necklace?" Bess asks
