We get back in the car and Nancy drives us to Owen's apartment. Ace and I give her space and look a the rest of the apartment while she's in the room. After a few minutes we walk in and see her hanging up a ghost trap, "No sign of Tinker Bell?" Ace asks
"Nope" She says
We both walk over and stand on either side of her, "Not everyone comes back" She says looking at Ace
"I know lately you've been pummeled by life. Everything you learned about your parents and now..." He says and looks at her
"I think what Ace means is that if you ever want to talk about anything, we're here" I say
"I really appreciate that. If I find the words, I will share them with you guys" We nod our heads, "But until then, how great is it that I can avoid talking about my two dads by avoiding talking about my dead..." She trails off as she looks at me
There's a few moments of silence, "Hey, look at that" Ace says walking over to a chest
"It says Marvin storage unit on it. Don't suppose you know where the key is?" Ace asks
She shakes her head, no, "Never mind found one" He says walking over
He grabs the key but I see Nancy looking at something; I follow her gaze, "Hey guys. Someone was here" She says
We see a hand print on the glass then Nancy calls Lisbeth. After about 15 minutes, Lisbeth arrives with a full forensics team; "Someone was watching Owen. The print's not even dry. Couldn't be more than a day old. I appreciate the call, Nancy" Lisbeth says
"Great, return the favor. Your forensic team at the Marvin estate, they're collecting DNA samples. What are they comparing it to?" Nancy asks
"I respect that you are dealing with a huge loss, but inserting yourself into a murder investigation isn't the way to do it" Lisbeth says
"Agree to disagree. Do you have the killer's DNA?" Nancy asks
Lisbeth scoffs, "Where'd you get it?" Nancy asks
Lisbeth looks at her, "Off of Owen, he fought back" Nancy says
"We obtained skin samples from under Owen's fingernails, yeah" Lisbeth says
I can tell this is getting to Nancy, "And the-the-the print on the window? When will you get the results back?" Nancy asks
"Uh, unfortunately, I don't think we're going to" Lisbeth says
"Why is that?" She asks
"The handprint was clear, but there weren't any fingerprints, as if the tips of the fingers were covered. We found a similar print on Owen's phone. There were trace amounts of an unidentified substance. The lab's testing it now" Lisbeth says
Nancy looks annoyed, "Is there anything else that you can tell me? Please let me help, use me" Nancy says
Lisbeth looks for a second, "What about him? Can I use him?" She asks looking at Ace
We head back to the station and Ace is on the computer, "Last night, the passcode on Owen's phone was repeatedly entered incorrectly until the phone was shut down. Here's the time stamp" Ace says
"Right around the estimated time of death" Lisbeth says
"So the killer wanted something from his phone?" Nancy says
"Yeah, he didn't get it, though" Ace says
Someone walks in, "Thanks" Lisbeth says
He hands her something then walks out, "Are those the results?" Nancy asks
