It had been a few days since Avalon last talked with Kimberly before she took off, but the pink wearing girl always assured Avalon that she hadn't forgotten about her, nor had the others. Currently, Avalon was sitting in the library reading up on something for her English class when two pairs of hands slammed down in front of her, making the red head look up and saw two guys, one very skinny and the other, larger than her Uncle Vernon leering at her that made her feel uncomfortable...it was the same way that Marcus Flint used to look at her and she hated it. "Can I help you two?" Avalon asked in a tone that made no room for arguing or that she was in a mood to be messed with, but clearly these two did not care or were simply too dumb.
"Well, that depends, sweetheart...you're still kind of new here and we'd just love to show you around. The names Bulk and this is Skull." The whale of a guy introduced and Avalon rolled her eyes, slamming her book shut and she stood up. "No thank you...I am perfectly fine on my own." Avalon snapped before leaving but the two idiots refused to give up and followed her, pestering her while she put the books back when Avalon turned around, casting a nonverbal and untraceable spell on the books to be heavier than usual and more or less forced them into Bulk's arms with a sickly sweet smile she had always forced on her face when dealing with people she did not like. "Since you two are so adamant about it...here!" Both boys fell on their faces as Avalon laughed and walked out of the library and ran right into Kimberly. "Oh, there you are! I was looking for you...look, I am so sorry about what happened at the mall." Avalon held her hand up.
"It's fine. You had an emergency of some kind. I'm not angry...well, not at you, the two that call themselves Bulk and Skull, now that is different." Kimberly nodded and the two started walking again. "Tell me about it...they are always bothering us no matter what." Kimberly groaned as the two made their way to the Youth Center and to Ernie's Juice Bar and sat on two of the stools . "Hey girls, what can I get you both?" Ernie asked and Kimberly ordered her usual smoothie while Avalon decided on a strawberry-banana smoothie as they watched their friends practice. As Tommy taught some of the smaller kids he looked over and winked at Avalon who blushed and turned away while Kimberly laughed. "Oh yeah...you got it bad." Kimberly joked while Avalon just rolled her eyes and drank the smoothie when she noticed her godfather walk in. "Hang on a sec, Kimberly, I need to talk to someone." Avalon got up and walked over to Remus Lupin who smiled as Avalon walked over.
"What's up, Moony?" Avalon asked and Remus Lupin showed her two house keys. "I got us a house finally. It has a basement that I along with the American Magical Department, enchanted with noise canceling spells so that no one would hear my screams when those nights came around. How are you doing though?" Lupin asked as he and Avalon walked back to the juice bar. "It's good. Kimberly, this is my god-father, Remus Lupin but I call him Moony as it's a nickname from his youth. Moony, this is one of my friends, Kimberly Hart." Avalon introduced her godfather to one of her friends. "Nice to meet you....thanks for helping Avalon get accustomed to a new school and everything." Lupin said to Kimberly who smiled and waved her hand. "It's nothing....Avalon told me about her life and I wanted her to know that unlike back in England, I am a true friend that will stay by her side no matter what." Kimberly assured Avalon who smiled before taking Remus over to meet her other friends, the one she started skating with.
As Avalon talked with Remus about skating being her new hobby, she did not notice her other friends look at their watches at the same time and leave. Remus Lupin however, was happy that his goddaughter was finally doing something she liked and had genuine friends....that had been a worry of his that he voiced to Petunia and Vernon, but when Dudley piped up from the kitchens about how Avalon had made real friends and started skating his worries were put aside. The words of Vernon Dursley kept echoing in his head about just how blinded he had been about James and Lily when Avalon was smaller. But now, away from it all, it was like Avalon could become a new person. Avalon showed off some skating moves that she had learned, earning claps and praises from Moony and her skating friends. "You head on home...I'm going to talk to Ernie about possibly having a part time job here until I can a full meeting with someone in America's magical congress." Remus told Avalon as he gave her a side hug and Avalon nodded, walking out of the Youth Center and headed down to where her new home was.
As she walked down the streets, those same putties appeared and tried to take Avalon. "Oh, Merlin's beard no!" Avalon cried out as she punched a few and kicked the others when she was grabbed from behind and dragged away. "LET ME GO!" Avalon wished she had her wand with her but it was still with her Hogwarts stuff back at the Dursleys. "Hey! Leave her alone!" Avalon turned as the putties stopped dragging her and they saw two figures, one in white and another in pink standing there. Avalon, taking the putties distraction, stomped on one of the feet and managed to take off, rolling away as the two figures jumped over her and started fighting off the putties. A few did manage to get to Avalon, but she fought them off and watched as they scampered away. The two figures walked over to Avalon and the white one picked up her discarded bag and handed it to her.
"You alright?" The white ranger asked and Avalon swore she had heard that voice before but ignored it for now. "Yeah...what...what were those things and who are you exactly?" Avalon asked as she faced the two colorfully dressed people. "Those were called putties, they are...bad guys of sorts. As for us, we are called Power Rangers." Avalon nodded, rather surprised as all she heard from Dudley about these guys is that they were heroes of some kind. "Well, thanks...again, I guess." Avalon said as she walked away from the rangers but as she turned the corner she looked back and her eyes widened when the pink one's outfit changed it was revealed to be....Kimberly? Avalon quickly hurried back to the house, feeling like she just stumbled onto something big.
