*That is the song that Avalon sings at the end of the chapter*
Christmas time was always a favorite of Avalon's and she was spending it in the best way possible...with friends, her real true friends. Kimberly, Aisha, Billy, Rocky, Adam and her loving boyfriend, Tommy. "There. Perfect!" Avalon muttered as she finished tying off the small purple box wrapped with white ribbon. "Fully enchanted and everything too." Avalon said as she put it with the other gifts she was going to give her friends, all items that Avalon enchanted to help keep her friends safe. Avalon kissed Moony on the cheek before running out and skated down to the Youth Center where she was helping everyone decorate for the Christmas Party. Tommy and the other guys came in carrying some things while Avalon stood next to Aisha, listening to the young kids sing while Kimberly played the guitar and she mouthed the words so that the kids wouldn't forget.
"It's so great to see the whole community get into the holiday spirit." Tommy said as he held a vase of poinsettias in his hands as he and the guys looked around at the decorations. "Yeah, it's nice to know that underprivileged kids will have a happy place to spend Christmas eve." Billy noted as Tommy put the poinsettias down and smiled, looking at Avalon as she, Kimberly and Aisha walked over. "That sounded great you guys." Adam said and Kimberly thanked him. "The kids have been working really hard." Aisha said as Ernie walked over and held a Christmas star in his hands. "Here it is, guys! The Christmas Tree wouldn't be complete without it." Ernie said as he handed the star to Avalon who looked at it before looking over at a young girl who was frowning. "I'll be back guys." Avalon said as she walked over and knelt in front of the girl. "Hey, this is just the person I was looking for. Do you want to help me put the star on top of the tree?" Avalon asked the girl with a smile on her face.
"But I can't reach that high." The girl said and Avalon looked from the tree to the girl. "Ah, come on...I think we can fix that. Let's go." Avalon said as she and the girl got up and walked over to the tree and Avalon handed her the star as Tommy walked over. "Alright, here you go...ready, 1,2,3!" Avalon cheered as Tommy picked the girl up and she put the star on the tree before walking back over to her friends and sees Kimberly's face. "Hey, whatcha thinking about?" Avalon asked and Kimberly sighed. "I'm really lucky to be able to spend Christmas with you, your Godfather, your aunt and uncle as well as Aisha's family. But, I'm really sad...this is the first Christmas I have ever spent without my mom and it just seems really weird." Kimberly said with a small laugh and Aisha and Avalon put their hands on Kimberly's shoulders. "Look, I know you still miss her, but we can still have fun...come on." Aisha said as the girls all went and put up decorations.
"I could use magic...but there are people around other than the rangers." Avalon muttered as she was trying to hang the mistletoe as Tommy walked over. "Need some help?" Tommy asked and Avalon nodded, handing him the decoration and he hung it up above their heads. "Oh, mistletoe!" Skull said as he walked over and kissed Avalon's cheek after pushing Tommy to the side. Bulk was going to do the same but one look from Tommy had him walking away. Avalon was trying not to laugh at Tommy expression as the two walked away, finishing up the decorating around the Youth Center when she spotted her aunt walking in with Dudley. "Aunt Petunia!" Avalon said as she walked over and gave her aunt a hug. "Merry Christmas, Avalon. I just got through baking these cookies for the party." Avalon and Tommy took the tins of cookies while Dudley held the other ones and they went and put them in the kitchens, away from Bulk and Skull.
"Okay guys, this is the last run-through before tonight's performance." Aisha said as she and Avalon stood with the children and Kimberly started playing the guitar. "One for each night, they shed a sweet light to remind us of days long ago." Avalon sang along with the kids as the song ended. "You guys are so good. Now, we'll see you all tonight." Aisha said as the kids all left, hugging Avalon and Aisha as they left and Avalon turned to look at Becky. "Hey, Becky...why don't you sing? Don't you like the songs?" Avalon asked the little girl who she had helped put the start on the tree with Tommy. "What does it matter anyway...no one will be here to hear me sing." Becky said sadly and Avalon pouted and looked at the girl as she walked off and Aisha and Kimberly shared the same looks. "Poor girl." Avalon said with a head shake, remembering how she used to be like that.
