Chapter 12~The Potion Notion

Though Valentines Day was in February, Angel Grove decided to host a 'Youth Ball' and Bulk and Skull were selling tickets. As the duo looked up and down the halls, Tommy and Avalon were walking, hand-in-hand before getting stopped by the duo. Avalon inwardly groaned while Tommy looked at the chaotic duo. "Tommy, Avalon." Bulk greeted and Avalon moved a bit closer to Tommy and they tried to leave before Bulk grabbed Tommy's hand. "Hey, you two look really good together. Isn't that right, Skull? Haven't I always said that they make a lovely couple?" Bulk asked Skull who was not amused or happy. "Yeah, sure, right...lovely." Skull spoke while Tommy looked uncomfortable and Avalon was trying her hardest not laugh or even snort at the scene currently. "Yeah, thanks." Tommy said as he turned and put a hand on Avalon's back, beginning to usher her away when Bulk stopped them. "Hey, by the way...Tommy, when's the last time you took this lovely lady our for-" Bulk hands something to Skull who then starts to sing. "A enchanted, romantic evening." Avalon bumped Tommy and raised her eyebrows while he looked rather surprised. 

"What?" Tommy asked. "Yeah, we gotta sell all these tickets to the Junior Police Ball or lieutenant is gonna throw us in the brig." Skull said as Bulk nodded and Tommy looked down at Avalon who smiled up at him, her greens full of both love and mischief. "Uh, well what do you think?" Tommy asked Avalon. "I'd love to." Avalon said with a smile and Tommy looked back at Bulk and Skull. "Alright!" Bulk said with excitement. Little did they know that Rito sent down a monster to cause mayhem or rather...Mischief this time around. "Oh, I just love it when I get to be invisible and play cupid!" The monster said as she walked around Angel Grove High, spotting two rangers, the pink and purple, in front of her. "Tommy and I are going to have so much fun and I know exactly what dress I am going to wear too!" Avalon gushed to Kimberly who laughed at her friend's excitement. Avalon then frowned as she felt her magic scream at her to duck as the monster got Kimberly instead who looked at Skull.

"Uh oh." Avalon muttered as she followed Kimberly over to Skull who seemed to be...in love with him. "Uh, Kimberly?" Avalon asked but was ignored as Kimberly and Skull flirted with each other. Avalon and Bulk shared looks of confusion while Skull dipped Kimberly who laughed. Unknown to them as the monster had vanished and reappeared, casting a spell on Lt. Stone to fall in love with Ms. Appleby and the four other rangers, Billy, Adam, Rocky, and Aisha watched with equal expressions of shock and glee. "Aye, aye, Aisha!" Aisha turned to look at Bulk who was staring at her the way Kimberly looked at Skull and Lt. Stone looked at Ms. Appleby. "Where have you been all my life? Bulk asked as the other rangers looked on with more confused expressions on their faces. Aisha, Adam, Rocky, and Billy managed to get out of the school and away from Bulk while Kimberly was dragged by Avalon to the park where Tommy was waiting for them. "Hey you guys notice anything weird and strange going on in school today?" Adam asked and Avalon huffed letting go of Kimberly's arm. "Aside from the fact that Kimberly is acting like she is under the affects of 'Amortentia' the most powerful love potion known in the magical world, nothing...why?" Avalon asked while watching Kimberly act all in love.

"Well, if you calling falling in love weird then color me guilty!" Kimberly giggled much to Avalon and Tommy's annoyance. "Maybe we should talk to Zordon?" Billy offered and as the Rangers went to teleport, Goldar and tengas appeared and the rangers are morphed into their ninja-ranger forms. After battling the tengas, the group traveled to the Command Center. "Zordon's something's wrong with Kim." Avalon said as she brought Kimberly forward. "She's not herself." Tommy finished as Alpha ran a scan on Kimberly to figure out what's wrong. "Aye, aye, aye! Kimberly seems to be under the spell of a love potion!" Alpha said and Avalon quickly brought out her wand, waving it over Kimberly before looking at the parchment that appeared. "Well, it isn't 'Amortentia'...so that's good." Avalon sighed, putting wand back in her bag. 

The alarm went off and the Rangers observed the viewing globe. "This is Miss Chief, she has wrecked havoc throughout Angel Grove. Do not undermine Miss Chief's power, her love potion undermines common sense and leaves the individual vulnerable to danger." Zordon explained as the rangers looked at the viewing globe and tommy turned around to face Zordon. "Can you help her?" Tommy asked in worry of his friend. "I am hesitant to tamper with the delicate balance of human emotion. But perhaps, Miss Chief's love potion will gradually wear off Kimberly and the others. Until then keep her under close watch." Avalon looked at her friend with worry as they teleported back near the school where Mr. Caplan was now in love with Ms. Appleby. "Ooh! This will work!" Miss Chief said as she used her love potion on a random jock named Robert who looked at Avalon as she passed and put an arm around her. 

"Hey beautiful." Avalon scrunched her nose at the jock and moved away from him. "Oh come on, Avalon! Don't be like that!" The jock, Robert followed Avalon who started running and ran straight into Tommy's arms. "Help." She muttered out weakly and Tommy moved her to be behind him. "Oh, I see how it is. Tell ya what, I can take on this guy, you'll see." Tommy turned back and looked at Avalon as if asking 'Is this guy for real?' Avalon shrugged. "Alright Robert, leave Avalon alone." Tommy said as he and Avalon tried to walk past but Robert stopped them, raising his fist up. "Come on, Oliver...unless you're too scared." Tommy sighed, annoyed at the taunting and made sure no one was looking before knocking Robert out. "That should buy us some time." Tommy muttered as he and Avalon ran past the knocked out body. "It's weird...my magic told me to duck and then next thing I know, Kimberly is all over Skull....wait....I can use my magic to try and find Miss Chief!" Avalon said as she used her magic to see Finister walking around. "Finister? What is he doing?" Avalon muttered as she followed the goon around and watched as he started to reverse the spells done by Miss Chief by fixing Mr. Caplan, Lt. Stone, Bulk, Kimberly and a still dazed Robert.

"What was I doing with Skull?" Avalon jumped as Kimberly appeared behind her. "Oh...it's a long story. Let's get the others." Avalon said as she roped her arms through with Kimberly's and the two walked off. "Rangers, Miss Chief has rematerialized in the park." Zordon said. "We're on our way...Let's take care of the stupid cupid." Avalon muttered. "It's morphing time!" Tommy called and the rangers all morphed and found Miss Chief where they started fighting her off using their weapons but once again, like all the others, Miss Chief grew using the powers of Rita and Zedd. "Ready guys?" "Ready!" "Pink Crane." "Blue Wolf." "White Falcon." "Purple Snow Leopard." "Red Ape." "Black Frog." "Yellow Bear." The rangers called their zords and jumped into the pilot seats and took on Miss Chief in the combined zord and the monster was once again defeated and the Rangers cheered as the world went back to normal. 

The night of the dance and Avalon was dressed up in a nice purple dress and was walking in with Kimberly while Billy and Aisha went off to dance as well leaving Adam to talk to some person. "Avalon, I wasn't really nice to Skull, was I?" Kimberly asked as she and Avalon looked over at Skull. "Why don't you ask him for a dance?" Avalon suggested and Kimberly nodded, walking over to Skull to talk to him. "May I have this dance, beautiful?" Avalon smiled and took Tommy's hand. "You are the only one that can call me that." Avalon said as she and Tommy danced on the dance floor with others. Avalon looked over and laughed as Kimberly and Skull shared a dance and Avalon leaned her head on Tommy's chest, closing her eyes and smiling as she enjoyed the night. Avalon did not know that things were about to really kick off and she would have to face her past once again, but for now, Avalon was enjoying the night.
