September 27, 1794

Today I must say my final farewell. My illness hasn't gotten any better and I fear there is no recovery anymore. I have been fighting it for a decade and no longer can I resist the urge of death coming upon me. I will always remember the calm times of my childhood, Mrs. Kang especially. But I will never forget how, when I left, I felt a new beginning arising. Never in a million years did I expect to end up like this, but if fate hadn't followed through, who knows if I would've found love.

My Dearest Eunwoo, please take care of yourself. I love you, your father loves you, and we can't forget your sister who was your biggest supporter. Take care of the kingdom, don't be afraid to ask your grandparents for help.

My Eunwoo, marry for love, not for duty. I promise that it will be worth it in the end.

Goodbye,
Lee Mingyue
