CHAPTER 14

Many people think they can easily fool everybody. They believe in their so-called acting skills that they forgot to remember how people's brain works. They tend to believe their own brainy self that they didn't see what other people can do to them.

Sometimes, pretending is okay. But pretending to be someone that you aren't is the biggest failure you ever had. You can copy how people act, check their backgrounds and what they do and you can easily fool somebody.

But being one-sided in this world couldn't help you to ace your success. Because even though you tried many times to be that person, you can't. Surely you can copy the way they act and everything yet you can't copy how they think.

That's the difference between being you or being someone else in someone else's personality.

"How did you know that she's not Ninang Veronica?"

AJ's question woke me up from my deep thoughts. Nakauwi na kami sa condo at naisipan naming tumambay dito sa ground floor. May tambayan kasi rito, isang round sofa na sakto sa sampung tao at sa gitna naman ay round table.

I shrugged. "'Di ba, I read Mommy's book? Nakita ko doon ang picture ni Ninang kaya kilala ko ang mukha niya."

His brows furrowed. "Picture? Akala ko puro spells ang libro na 'yon kaya delikado?"

I sighed. "Ang totoo n'yan, hindi naman talaga, Jay. Diary iyon ni Mommy, hindi ko lang alam kung bakit sinasabi nina Lolo na huwag bubuksan iyon dahil delikado."

He nod. "I get it, ayaw lang siguro nating pakialaman 'yon."

Trip chuckled. "Pero nakialam na si Zab."

I glared at him. "Gusto ko lang naman basahin!"

"Oh, feisty," he smirked.

"Uh-huh, Montenegro?" Froy interrupted.

"Ito naman, 'di mabiro!" Trip defended.

Froy shook his head. "What's the plan now?"

"Basahin ang libro ni Mommy," I smiled widely.

"No," AJ and Froy both answered at the same time.

I pouted. "Ano ba naman!"

"We don't know yet of what's with that book, Khal," AJ said. "You know that Lolo won't warn us if it's not dangerous to read it."

I scoffed. "E, nabasa ko na nga!"

Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay. "Are you really shouting at me now?"

"Yes!" I exclaimed. "Wala naman kasing masama kung basahin, Jay. Mas nakatulong pa nga sa akin iyon kagaya sa nangyari kanina e!"

"Oh, walang aawat." - Jake

"Pusta ako, susuko si AJ." - Kate

"Pusta rin ako, dre." - Sol

"Ano ba, porket ba mas matanda ka sa 'kin e hindi ka na makikinig? I know what's for the best," AJ defended.

I glared at him. "At hindi porket alam mo kung anong mas pabor ay susundin na kita!"

"Zabriel for the win." - Trip

"Ano ba, Trip." - Andrea

Napatayo siya't napahilamos sa mukha. "Zabriel, can you for once listen to me?"
