"Just because you need me, doesn't mean I need you. Remember that, Six."

Six shuddered at the thought. This iteration had already proved himself capable of manifesting an ability powerful enough to knock even Six on her ass and the last thing she'd want is a fight.

For now, she'd have to play along.

Play along just until she can determine if he's worthwhile, or if he's a genuine threat to her life and Mono's. He's a jerk, sure. But if his bite can match his bark, she's got her work cut out for her.

The three traveled together silently for a while, Nine easily navigating the city streets until they gain closer to the tower. Six couldn't help but be impressed by Nine's skills, even if it was routine by now, she always enjoyed observing his new traits and talents. What makes him tick, what makes him excited or happy.

But a feeling in her gut makes her uneasy. The first time this has ever happened while near him. He walks with such confidence and authority despite the state of the Pale City. Almost recklessly confident...

And after they had entered through a crumbling restaurant in order to access the rooftop, A viewer had been in the midst of staring off the side of the building. Hearing the door open it scrambled to picked Nine up before blasting him with static.

Nine looked the viewer in the non existent eyes, completely unaffected by the static. "If you'd still had a mouth, I'd imagine your breath would be hot as hell." He insulted, "Get your filthy hands off of me, mongrel!" He shouted before the Viewer's fingers broke suddenly, it released him and backed away in fear. "Fall." Nine commanded before the fearful Viewer fell backwards down the stairs.

After Six was done picking her jaw off the floor, she asked him, "How...how the hell did you do that?

Nine's oppressive aura flickered as he spoke, "My royal blood means I falter to none." His purple eyes brightened as his aura disappeared but Six heard a loud pop from downstairs. It reminded her of an exploded cranium.

"Did you..." Six was about to ask but Nine already had an answer.

He crossed his arms and smirked, "Mercy kill that creature? Yes, I did." He said proudly, "Perhaps you've got some reason to know what that sound was?" Nine tilted his head in interest, but his tone portrayed something else entirely...

"I-" Six barely managed to get out before Nine's eyes narrowed at her, his glare puncturing the predator's security with a mere look. "Six, please. You must think I'm an idiot to not send my servants to survey the Pale City and report back to me. I've heard all about a little girl in a yellow raincoat doing as she pleases within this city? Beating on other children, murdering other children. Eating, the children." His aura expanded slightly as he glared at Six's red eyes through her bangs. "You've even killed four of my scouts in the last three months and that... is simply unforgivable." He said was surprising aggression in his otherwise calm voice.

Six's stomach sank as she felt his overwhelming presence, it was like sinking deeper into the sea as the pressure slowly crushed her. All of this, from one teen?  It's insane.

Thankfully for Six, Mono didn't stand by while Nine stared her down.

Nine grabbed Six by the throat and threw her into the wall as Mono charged at him, when Mono went for a right hook, Nine weaved it and slipped behind him, wrapping his arms around Mono's waist and hoisting him up into the air.
