31. Rings

Aria pov.

June rolled in and honestly I couldn't be more grateful. That means that the year is almost over and I get to finally have some peace. Randell Sweetings downfall was plastered all over the Newspapers. The Daily Prophet mainly. The NEWTs are starting next week, can't wait for them to be over as well and out of the way. Another thing, the boys have been acting odd, and secretive. I've tried to ask them but they deflect the question. Last weekend I couldn't even find them. It was like they disappeared. So I spend the day with Natty. I even sent a letter to Poppy to see how she's doing I haven't heard from her in a while now. She hasn't responded yet, but I'm sure she will.

I was currently sitting in the Great Hall eating breakfast. Waiting for the boys to arrive. I did however see an owl drop a letter in front of me.
It's from Poppy. I knew she would write me back. It's only been a couple days. I open the envelope.

Dear Aria,
It's great hearing from you. I'm also sorry I took so long to reply, it's been very eventful over here, making arrangements for the wedding and getting ready for baby. We're staying very busy indeed.
Now about what you said regarding my father. I want you to know I don't hold any resentment. Truly. I have no love lost for him. He meant nothing to me. So in a way I should be thanking you. I also know the pain he's caused you and countless others and even innocent beasts. You did everyone a favor. I don't want you to think you're a bad person or deserve any punishment for what was done. He was an even worse person and deserved what he got. Gran agrees with me. Please don't blame yourself or worry over it. I hope you can find peace and move on. I'm sure Ominis and Sebastian are enough to keep you entertained and on your toes. You're still my best friend.
Now I can't wait to see you when schools over. I know graduation is only weeks away at this point and once it's done we can meet up. I miss you so much. Good luck on the NEWTs! I know you'll do amazing.

I miss Poppy as well. I'm happy for her. There's so many good things going for her. I looked up from the parchment. I saw the boys head to arrived sometime when I was reading the letter. I stood up, abandoning my food and I went over to them. Let's sneak up on them.

Sebastian pov

We didn't see Aria, when she snuck up on us. We were discussing an important topic Aria can't know about yet. The other day Ominis and I snuck out to Hogsmeade over the weekend we didn't want to be noticed. We got to Gladrags. We got what we went for and hid it in our dorm. It's a surprise for her. I hope she doesn't suspect anything. 

"Hey are you still coming the final quidditch match of the year and my final one ever" I ask her.

"Of course I am! I wouldn't miss it for anything" she said excitedly.

"Ominis you coming too right" she asked him.

"Yes of course" he said.

"Excellent! It'll be one we'll never forget" I say.

"Why's that?" She asked.

"Because we're going to win and finally get the cup" I say covering up the real answer. Because regardless of winning or losing Ominis and I still have our surprise.

"When is it?" she asked.

"Tomorrow because of exams" I tell her.

"Well I'm excited for you" she says.

We enjoyed the rest of the day together. When it was time to separate into our own common rooms Ominis and I walked her to the door, each gave her a kiss goodnight and she left. We both walked in tandem to the dungeons. Ominis may know of one surprise, however I have one for him too. I've had to think a lot about it and I believe it's the right call.
