Aria pov
Summer 1896

Now that's it's summer I don't have to think about classes or teaching. I get to enjoy my time with my husbands. I had been exchanging letters with Poppy and Natty sparingly throughout the year we all agreed to meet up sometime over the summer. Poppy's most recent letter came only this morning.

Dear Aria,
I'm glad you're doing well and that Ominis and Sebastian are well too. I know it's been hard to keep up with letters with us traveling so much. Being a magizoologist is lots of work but it's so much fun. Helping to care for beasts and help protect them. Magnus has been traveling for work as a curse breaker as well.
Theo has been a joy in all this. For being so young he really hasn't been fussy. In fact I'll be back in the highlands next week visiting Gran. She wanted to give Theo a party even though it's not his birthday yet but we'll be away for it and the months leading up to it. Can you believe he's going to be 3 years old already!? Merlin does time fly. It's like yesterday he was born. I'm already dreading the day he gets a Hogwarts letter and leaves us to go to school. But we still have time I probably shouldn't worry myself about it yet. We should get together then. I miss you my friend. I have so much to tell you! It's so exciting! I also can't wait to hear all about your adventures in teaching. That has to be exciting as well.
Let me know if that works for you I'll try and owl Natty as well, it's a long shot with her being in Africa and all but it would be nice to try. Anyway write me soon. I look forward to reading it.
Love always from your best friend,
Poppy

I quickly found some spare parchment and a quill and wrote her back.

Dear Poppy,
I can't wait to hear all about your wonderful adventures traveling. Next week sounds perfect. Our door is alway open to you and your family, stop by anytime. 3 years already! Wow! Theseus is so big already, I can't wait to see him, there's still eight years before he's going to school so don't worry yourself over it now. I'm sure he's just the cutest little thing now.
I agree it would be lovely to hear from Natty, but as she's away in Africa she's far and she'll see us when she comes back. I too will write to her, just to see what she's been up to. There's so much to tell you about teaching and what's been keeping me busy. But I won't spoil it I rather hear it all in person and tell you. Can't wait to see you!
Lot of love from your best friend,
Aria

I fold it up and send it off with the owl to deliver it back to her. I went back to the living room where Sebastian was reading a book and Ominis had the gramophone playing soft music behind him that he was listening to. I sat on the sofa next to Sebastian and leaned my head on his shoulder. I told them of my letter exchange with Poppy and they were excited for me to see her again.

I was thinking about Theseus, Poppy's son. How he's a three year old already and how I have barely seen him since he was born. It's not my fault I remind myself. Poppy and Magnus travel for work all over the world and for long periods of time so of course I don't see them all that often. Makes me think back to the time I thought I was pregnant two summers ago. How now I would give anything that it was true. That I had a little one running around the house. How I was longing for one now. I have my beloved husbands and a beautiful home and we all have steady jobs with an income, now I want a family. Especially now that I'm a teacher and around children all the time.

I worried bringing it up to Sebastian and Ominis. I know they enjoy what we have now. How it's just us three. I think they want to wait a little longer, I do want to talk to them about it though I just don't know when a good time to bring it up is. As I sat there thinking there was a scratching at the window. I popped my head up and saw an owl with a letter. It couldn't have been from Poppy already. I stood and opened the window and took the letter the owl then flew off. I flipped over the fancy looking envelope.
