Sebastian pov

I got home and burst into the door. There was so much to talk to them all about. I never knew. How could I have, I was so young, I don't know anything about their research or anything. And it sounds like their deaths weren't an accident. It was a kind of murder? But how? I saw Aria and Ominis' heads pop up from the sofa she was holding a book.

"What in Merlin's name was that!?" Ominis said furiously then started to hiss something under his breath.

"Omi it was only Seb" she said.

"Sebastian you should know better than to bang doors like that; felt like the whole house was shaking" he started to mutter.

"My apologies" I said.

"Sebby what's wrong?" She said.

"Huh, oh nothings wrong" I said.

"Yeah right, that was so convincing, what's wrong?" She said standing from the sofa, and walking over to me. Where a disgruntled Ominis was still sitting.

"I know you went to your childhood home, was it ruined or something, did you find something disturbing." She asks. Damn this woman how does she know all that.

"How did you know that?" I asked.

"I didn't but you confirmed it" she gave me a warm smile. "What was it?" We went back over to the sofa.

"I did walk around the house. It was odd. It seemed smaller than I remembered but still large. You know you what I mean? It was strangely ominous" I said. Ominis rolled is eyes and huffed his arms over his chest.

"Sorry mate, unintentional" said briefly.

"I went into their study, you know where it happened. And that's when it started to get strange. I found all sorts of letters and correspondence from a number of people and my parents. I even found one from Professor Fig. They were researching ancient forms of magic" I paused.

"Hold on. Your parents were? And they knew Fig?" She asks.

"Yes. I also found one of my mother's journal entries on the subject but it was cut off and I didn't get to finish it." I tell them.

"Wow, I can't believe it" she said. "What a small world"

"That's not all" I said.

"What?" She said.

"I found this note" I said hand it to her.

"This is my last warning Sallows' what does that mean?" She read it.

"I don't know but it sounds their "accident" wasn't actually an accident." I say.

"You mean—"

"Yeah"

"Oh Sebby I'm so sorry" she said.

"I need to know. I need to find out. I have to know who did this?" I say.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from you Sebby, but you should proceed with caution, you have no idea what feathers you may ruffle by looking into this. Do you promise to be careful" she said to me. She does have a point. It's been so long at this point.

"Yes of course darling" I say to her.

"Alright, if you need me, I'll always be here for if you need any help." She kissed my cheek.

"Ominis I was actually hoping you would help me, working in the ministry and all you could help me with paperwork or anything that would be necessary. They were in contact to the minister at the time, so I'm sure there is something floating around at the ministry." I asked. "I'm only in training, I have a long way to go before I was trusted to wander the ministry"

"Sebastian you know how I feel about this"

"Om, these are my parents, if they were killed I have to know. Ever since I was a small child Anne and I were told it was an accident, a slip up on their part. Now I have reason to believe otherwise. It's suspicious. Please mate?" I plea desperation lacing in my voice.

"Fine I'll see what I can do, but it won't be easy. I haven't been there long and I don't have any connection anymore." He tells me.

"Thanks I'll take what I can get anything at this point, I understand that this endeavor may take a long time but it's time well spent. I have to know" I say.

"I'll see if there's anything I can do to help. I wish I could ask professor Fig. I do miss him a lot" she said.

"Thank you darling"

"Anyway let's get on with our holiday decorations, it's only a week away now" I say.

Aria pov

Over the next week Sebastian didn't do much with his theory, I guess he's waiting for the holidays to be over. That doesn't mean he wasn't thinking about it. A number of times I had to rouse him from his thoughts and bring him back to the conversation at hand. I understand it ought to be terrible to think about.

When Christmas came. It was still special. Christmas is always special when we're all celebrating it together. We exchanged gifts. I gave them both their presents. They both were a little confused but when I explained that they could be used for the wedding they really loved them. I was given a dress, a beautiful new ivory cream and light blue dress. A beautiful pair of pearl earrings and a matching necklace. I put them on and decided I never wanted to take them off ever.

"Thank you so much, I love you" I said.

"You're very welcome my love" Omi said.

"Anything for you darling" Sebby said to me.
They both kissed me on the cheek. I pulled each of them in for a real kiss. The rest of Christmas was a delight. Sebastian had made a special supper for us all; it was delicious and savory. A wonderful day.

The week that followed was just as delightful. We were in a post Christmas glow and really enjoying ourselves. We rang in the new year together and January brought wedding stress. Getting married in just a month we were all now in wedding mode. I received a letter from my parents, I had completely forgot to see them post Hogwarts, and they still haven't met Ominis and Sebastian. I had to owl Natty and Poppy about dress shopping and all that.
