61. Its Not Easy

Aug-Sept 1900

It's been two months since our getaway, and I still think about it. Anna's birthday is coming up soon I'm trying to figure out what I should get her. I also have my students, with classes starting again September 1, less than three weeks away. I haven't felt the best. I've been sick a lot this summer. The guys and I couldn't understand why. That is until this morning my latest bout of sickness. When was the last time I menstruated? Shit! Could I be pregnant? I ran downstairs to find my husbands. They were in the kitchen with Anna, she was in her high chair munching on her breakfast.

"Morning darling" Sebastian said to me.

"Morning love" Ominis said too.

"Good morning everyone" I say.

"You alright?" Sebastian said.

"Guys I need to talk to you" I say.

"What's wrong?" Omi asks.

"I think I know what's going on, the realization came to me this morning after being sick again. I think I'm pregnant" I say. They were stunned.

"Are you sure?" Ominis asks.

"No but, I've been sick a lot and and I haven't had a menstrual in a while. I know we talked about another baby but I didn't think I would happen." I say.

"I'll go write to Mungo's to know for sure" Seb says.

"Are you okay?" Omi asks me.

"I don't know"  I said.

"Come eat something" he says to me.

He sat down at the table and placed a plate of hot cakes and berries in front of me, with a cup of tea. I drank the tea, and ate a few berries. But the more I thought of being pregnant the more exciting it was. However I did have a difficult first one and I understand their hesitation. But looking over at our Anna, all doubt left. She's perfect and beautiful and so will this one. It's was all worth the struggle.

A week later, Sebastian and Ominis came with me to Mungo's to make sure. We got there and when they called me back. The healer waved her wand over me. She smiled at us and confirmed my suspicions. They've improved the spells so now I can hear the heartbeat it was surreal. I was actually pregnant.

"Wow it's quite fast and loud" I said.

"Yes, that's normal for such a early stage"

"Well is there anything else" she asks

"No I think we would be fine" I say.

"Perfect you have nothing to worry about you don't drink or smoke, the babies will be just fine" she says as we head to the door.

"Did you say babies?" Ominis said.

"Did she say babies?" I asked.

"Yes, you're having twins, congratulations" she says.

"Ha!" Sebastian said.

"Who's having twins?" I asked.

"You are" she tells us.

"Oh!" I said excitedly. "Isn't that exciting"

"I am stunned" Ominis said.

"Oh! I got to write to Poppy and Natty immediately, are you coming" I asked them.

"I think I'll stay a few minutes I have questions" Sebastian said.

"Ok see you later" I said leaving them there.

(A/N: if anyone gets this reference I love you. lol I understand if you don't it's an old tv show but it's so funny I had too. Anyway back to the story)

Sebastian pov

"You alright Mr. Sallow, Mr. Gaunt?" The healer asks.

"I'm stunned I don't know" I said.

"It's surprising to say the least" Ominis said.

"You can say that again" I mumbled.

"I know you both have concerns, but I promise you it's going to be alright, she's a strong woman and twins just happen" the healer said.

"Oh I know, I am a twin, I have a twin sister, but I never expected to have twins myself" I tell her.

"Look you both should go home and relax, clearly it's big news, you need to take time to process, she's already about 9 to 10 weeks along. That's little over three months, make sure she's eating well and taking vitamins, and not stressing." The healer says to us.

"Of course, thank you ma'am" Ominis said.

Leading me out and to the floo. We got home and Aria was buzzing about the house already. Anna was sitting on the floor in the living room with her toys. I sat on the sofa, watching Anna. She's getting so big, her beautiful brown curls, big hazel eyes, her chubby cheeks smiling at me. She toddles over to me and says dada. My heart melts every time I hear her say little words. Everyone she calls me dada. Her vocabulary is making progress, she still can't make sentences yet. I picked her up, she went into a fit of giggles. Like music to my ears. I walked her over to her mother and Ominis who were in the kitchen. Ominis was trying to tell her to calm down and that he'll make lunch. I pulled Aria into a hug with one arm. I handed her Anna, I put my hands around her waist my hand landing on her belly. The belly that is carrying out babies. Ominis had his hand over mine that were still resting on Aria.

"Twins, I can't believe it." I said.

"I know it's so exciting" Aria said.

"It will be hard" Ominis said.

"Yes, but worthwhile, because we're a family and we can get through everything together" Aria says.

"It will be quite the adventure." I say.

"I can't wait" she said.

Aria pov

It's been a couple months and let me tell you teaching while pregnant isn't easy. But I try not to let it interfere with my work. All my colleagues were excited when I told them I was pregnant. I told professor Fig and he was excited for me. I have many conversations with him still. Sharp and Weasley were so kind to me. I even made my way to the kitchens and told Deek about it. He was so happy too. But with it being twins means that I'll be showing much earlier. I already have a little bump and I'm only four and a half months, with Anna, I didn't start showing until almost six months.

I have much fewer classes, since not as many students are taking this class this year. I still have my regular students from the previous years. But I have a much smaller group of third years and fourth years. It's nice actually, I got to the feasts at Hogwarts and I eat all the time. Even at home. I help them put Anna down to sleep each night after Sebastian's story time with her. My parents were excited to hear about it. When I told them when we needed them to start looking after Anna again. Shocked that it's twins but nonetheless excited.

Now then Anna's 2nd birthday in just two weeks now, we decided on a small gathering. With my parents and Poppy and her family said they'll come over. And a few neighbors that have watched her for a couple hours here and there when I would have to go to the market or whatever. They were all really nice and welcoming.
